Assuming Holt does not cool off to any great extent and Betts has a nice OBP and doesn't prove to be a liability with his OF/D, it's going to be an interesting 1-9 every night in the near term. The lineup could be in flux all season (WMB,Carp?, OF trade)?
Will Holt play ss against LHP? I would think so. Pretty weak left side but Betts arrival makes Herrera look superfluous when you could put Holt in there out of the OF.
Lots and lots of questions and if AJ and X break out and start to hit with some power the run scoring problem could be over. Combine that with a sharp Buchholz for the second half and you'd have something to quickly get to .500 and beyond.
I'm still in a sell frame of mind but more optimistic.

The last time Mookie didn't reach base in a game, he was a Sea Dog. It will be interesting (fun) to see how long he goes.
Mookie saw 23 pitches in his 4 plate appearances.
If we have any shot at this year, Peavy has to be gone, RDLR has to be in the rotation.

Right now he's at 28 games over three of them, and I bet no one has ever had a streak over four. (In fact, three may already be a record.)

Mookie's debut coincidentally awoke the rest of the offense.

Mookie's debut coincidentally awoke the rest of the offense. Or is the coincidence that every run scored was against Whitley, Kelley, and Huff?
