Almost to the midway point. If we win the next two, we're on a 76 win pace. That should sew up a playoff spot. . . . No place to put this, just found it an interesting tidbit. John Thorn is a baseball historian.
John Thorn ?@thorn_john 10m .@gsweeney120 Full length? No. Earliest full-length World Series game to survive is from 1952. Earliest regular season: 1969.
That's means there are no full game films remaining from the Impossible Dream year. That would include what is considered the turn around game where the Sox went from a 10-0 deficit to an 11-10 victory (LOL, I was at that game, in RF, behind Tartabull if you know the story). That amazes me.
More useless trivia. I actually owned 'The Impossible Dream' record album. It was a mono record of mostly radio highlights but featured Richard Kiley singing The Impossible Dream and a song titled 'Carl Yastrzemski' which was a chorus singing his name to the beat of 'Halleluiah'.

Amazing memories dude. Shame no more full games left. It would be sweet if nesn would (if there were any) broadcast some, instead of that stuff they do during the day, even some games from the 70's. Like those 2 games in '76 where yaz hit 5HR over 2 days vs NY.
Memorabilia of '67.. Yaz'z Winter Haven home was the next street over from where we lived in the late 60's. Think posted it here when was posting here before. He is a really nice guy. He'd sign autographs and all when we'd go up to his house, talk to us.. stuff like that. He gave both me and my best friend a cracked Yaz bat and a '67 Red Sox autographed baseball that season. I foolishly gave away the bat years ago, but still have the ball with all the members of that glorious team he gave me.

Should definitely win the first and third. And Lester in the new toilet is fun. I'm calling a sweep.

Look....we may not be a playoff team...but we sure as hell can't finish below the Yucks. After we sweep this series, we'll be only 2 back. I got a hunge ridin' on more victories at the end of the year with a Yankme buddy...and I don't want to pay it.

No better team to get a sweep on. It disgusts me that the Yankees have a winning record with that roster and those injuries and we don't.

If that means RS will post three runs before the seventh, I'll take it!

Let's see if I did this right. Eric, check me out. Expected Winning % this year for Red Sox vs. Yankees based on Bill James' improved Pythagorean Theorem.
| Runs
| Runs Allowed
| Wins
| Losses
| Win %
| Expected Win%
| Diff
| Red Sox
| 301 | 332 | 36 | 43 | 45.57 | 45.53 | 0.04 | Yankees | 311 | 345 | 40 | 37 | 51.95 | 45.27 | 6.68 |
Determined by the formula R^1.83/((R^1.83)+(RA^1.83))

^God I hope he was only there to visit. He's there to take Brock Holt's place on the roster. BC doesn't want to give up depth.

Gomes in left today, as a left hander is pitching (?). Really do not like to second guess a manager, but suspect they may be looking for another right hand bat to platoon with Nava ( who is one of their better hitters right now). Let' see what Gomes does. Strange De La Roza is not penciled in for the next two series, and reports say Peavy has a "mild hamstring issue.
There are some signs that the Sox may also bring up a position player soon ( Betts or Roberts).

So they should stick together and just leave Holt in RF.

As I continue to wait for Brock Holt to snap back to reality he keeps making plays and getting hits. Unbelievable.

How many days of rest does Workman have? Probably not fair to expect him to be sharp from the 1st inning.
