Javier Rodriguez pitched yesterday so today is Dedgar Jimenez turn. The rotation should be all set now barring any rehab guys pitching. Looks as if Sergio Gomez is now working out of the bullpen as he pitch there in his last outing.

Day loaded with pitching prospects in Rubby, Owens, Gunkel, Ball, and one MLB SP stuck in a prospects spot, Rubby. Had to clear this up some.

It's interesting that Cherington does not consider AAA players to be prospects anymore. He says they are major league players simply waiting for the call.

Henry's last 6: 41.2IP 5R/ER 2HRA 25H 10BB 38K 1.080ERA 0.84WHIP I am way more excited about Owens this year than just about anyone else other than Mookie. While his strike outs have gone down a little, they have pretty much all become ground balls and his walks have gone down as well. Perfect. His line drive % is absurdly low at 11.3% following up last season at 9.4%. His OF FB% is only 27.7%. This is a pretty damn dominant minor league pitcher. I'm not far from naming him Lester's replacement.

Obviously to achieve that he'll likely have to add a fourth pitch I guess... Gesendet von meinem iPhone mit Tapatalk

He's been assigned to Portland, where I think he's a good fit.

It's interesting that Cherington does not consider AAA players to be prospects anymore. He says they are major league players simply waiting for the call. Funny. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when he gets a call from other GMs, just to hear how many times they use the word prospect, and how few times they refer to them as ML ready guys. I suppose this could be seen as waving the cape in front of the current roster also.

Devers came out of the DSL game at the start of the sixth inning. Also, Roldani Baldwin homered for the second straight day.

Owens throwing the curve early in the game tonight, unusual for him. I am way more excited about Owens this year than just about anyone else other than Mookie. I'm sure he'll fall apart in AAA but we're going to have an incredible bullpen in a few years.

Your guess is as good as mine. He walked and scored on a homer by the next batter the previous half-inning though, so it's hard to say.

He was traded for a reliever to hit clean up in the big league line-up.
It's probably nothing the game was 8-0 at that point. Everyone needs to play.
Also Aybar 2/3 2B, 3B not too shabby for a soon to be 17 y/o.

Mauricio Dubon is 2 for 2 today and is up to .300 on the season. He has as many walks as strikeouts and has shown a little pop. Reports on his defense have been very positive and the fact that he plays SS over Flores is a really good sign.
I'm intrigued. Very excited to see what he does as he advances.
