7/9 Red Sox (TBD) vs. White Sox (LHP Chris Sale 8-1 2.16) 7:10 pm ET, NESN/ESPN/WEEI Technically TBD perhaps, practically it looks very much like RDLR. Battle of the aces!

That's correct, because the Red Sox do not play after the ASB until the 18th. In other words, Workman gets sent down on the 8th (post-game) and RDLR is called up to pitch on the 9th. Lester, Lackey, Peavy and Buchholz pitch on the 10th-13th. All-star break is the 14th-16th, and the Red Sox are off on the 17th. By the time the KC series begins on the 18th, Workman would be eligible to return, and who knows what the rotation will look like by then.

I'll be happy if we split this series, in my opinion it seems like we're starting to hit the ball better. Pedroia is starting to produce like the Dustin we know. Nava is starting to get in a groove, i haven't lost fate. I'm just praying we can turn the season around because this has been a miserable season full of frustration.

the way the Sox handle the call up of top prospects is a joke. Betts needs to be playing everyday or send him back down. Jesus.

Carp in the clubhouse, Herrera with an empty locker..... A welcome change. And more changes to come in the next 3 weeks.

Tim Britton ?@timbritton 12m Farrell said Betts will be in regularly against the lefties the rest of this series.

Waaay more.....This will likely be an exciting time in the midst of a season otherwise in the abyss. Worst-to first-to worst and the future cloudy to say the least. We could be looking at Celtics redux.

A healthy and productive Carp would be nice trade bait. Anybody notice how well Tampa has been doing the last month. Can the Sox now get out of last place?

Farrell is managing like it's October to try and keep the front office from giving up on the season. So Betts is limited to platoon duty. Hopefully they lose 7 in a row going into the ASB and we can treat this season properly in the second half.

Carp in the clubhouse, Herrera with an empty locker..... 40-man roster shows Herrera at 4 years, 1 day ... coming into '14. This ends his free agency in October 2015 ... moves it to '16. If he comes back before 20 days, he does not burn an option, but I assume his service time is affected by spending the 19 days in AAA.

Buffalo's Brad Glen, 27-yr old RHB RF, DFA by TOR.
More appealing than Soriano, who is not an upgrade over Gomes.
Sox passed on AA Bowie's 30-yr old Nolan Reimold RHB LF. TOR grabbed him off waivers from BALT.

Yeah, they are really going to have a good staff without Lester. I am sure Webster, Ranuado, and company are front line starters that will kill it right off the bat, and with Clay on the staff, wow.
