I don't know who this kid is pitching in the Dominican tonight but he was born to be a star. Well, he's not gonna have much of a shot if he shows up tonight for a 10:30am game

Its time to put Almanzar back on the rankings. I would like to see him at 20, but would agree with 21-25.

You have to be impressed by Asuaje's extra base total, a 548 slg. He is listed as 5'9".

Kid has played 2B, 3B, SS, and LF, can't be too hard to find him some AB's in what this year is a very uninteresting Salem lineup. 38/52 BB/K and hasn't struggled against lefties (.304/.400/.493). He isn't necessarily age-advanced but why not bump him up just to see what you have? Nothing wrong with developing versatile guys which they've clearly already started doing with him playing multiple positions, right? The power from a guy 5'9 is impressive, does SAL generally inflate power numbers? ADD: Boy, Younginer really roughed up tonight 7 ER on 7H and 3 walks in one inning. Spoiled a nice start from Haley, 6IP 3H one earned.

A couple of things on asurje. I watched him last night in charleston and he is the guy in that team worth watching.
1.) he made good contact all night. Seemed to really have a plan for each at bat and each situation.
2.) after seeing what happened when they sent Magee up to Salem earlier this yeAr and how badly he struggled. I think they have to be careful not to mess up a promising career.
3.) aro - the relief pitcher needs to go to Salem. He toyed with the opposition last night.

Mager is also two years older and projects to be of an org. player, Asuaje looks much more interesting to me being that he has a bit more pop and has been doing what he's doing the whole season, as well as being a more versatile player on the diamond.

No argument from me. For all the talk of Margot, it is asurje who has impressed me the most every time I see Greenville play.

Wright 8IP, 8K's, 2H, no runs Hard to see him getting an opportunity in Boston, but he deserves a shot at the big leagues. If I were a team like the Astros or the Cubs, he's the kind of guy I'd be trying to pick up for cheap.

You may be wright, but I still think he'd be a great steady #5 who will pitch better than a #5 - for Boston. Not all these prospects will pan out. Plus other could be used as trade pieces. I think Wright could be a very steady presence at the back end of the rotation.

Wright has some value. Why not trade Doubront and Peavy and sign Lester, extend Lackey and go with what we have ( including Buchholz). Out of the 6-8 good starting pitching prospects we have some will probably be decent.

Asujae also played in college, and Margot plays center, a key position, not that being able to play many positions well is not important. But wouldn't use Asujae's age and experience to discredited what he is doing. Besides this is a prospect site, and ass such there is a tendency to hype "raw skill" kids like Margot. Can't take either one that seriously until they do well at AA.

Everyone, it's Asuaje. Pronounced Ah-Swah-hey, I think.
