Great to see Michael Chavis have a REAL good game with 2 doubles, a walk, and stolen base. Boy did he need that! Nice to see no K's.

Well deserved is right, what an exciting kid to watch. Up just in time to catch Owens tonight? Which would help his transition as well.
Add: Thank You Brian MacPherson

Brian MacPherson ?@brianmacp 1m Heath Hembree has an empty locker at McCoy Stadium. Probably the call-up for Steven Wright to fill out Boston bullpen.
Brian MacPherson ?@brianmacp 2m Heath Hembree indeed has been called up.

He may be prone to the long ball, but I'd like to see if the improved command is real and how his stuff plays out of the PCL.

Rob Bradford ?@bradfo 26m As reported by @iamjoonlee Hembree, Brown to join Red Sox. Moves will most likely be Wright, and either Craig DL (will test ankle) or Betts

Owens missed location on a pitch in the second (Swihart set up low and away, pitch arrived high and in), got a popout. He's fanned 5 of the first 6 he's faced. He's using all of his pitches and hitting Swihart's glove..

Columbus Top of the 3rd Carlos Moncrief grounds out, second baseman Justin Henry to first baseman Travis Shaw. Elliot Johnson strikes out swinging. Luke Carlin walks.
A walk? Kill the ump!

Not perfect, 3rd inning walk came on a 3-2 changeup that had the entire infield walking to the dugout, just missed a tad outside by my untrained eye. Curve is looking best I've seen it. First K in that inning came on a nasty in the dirt curve.

AAA Owens is doing a pretty good AA Owens impersonation.

Any chance we'll see Owens in Fenway this season?

Hank's 2 walks thus far are against LHH: His CH is so good compared to his breaking ball that I think he could be the kind of pitcher with reverse splits.

Any chance we'll see Owens in Fenway this season? Not really. Makes no sense from a roster management perspective, especially when the parent team is not competitive. Best case is next June (post-super-two deadline).

Yeah, about those more advanced AAA hitters that were supposed to expose Owens flaws a bit more . . . .

Any chance we'll see Owens in Fenway this season? I really doubt it; too many guys who are already on the 40-man roster who need to be evaluated.
