I saw this note that Mookie has switched agents. Does anyone know the standard terms of player-agent contracts? Do players sign a contract for a fixed # of years? Is there a standard penalty for breaking the contract (switching agents), or is it very individualized?

If I understand it correctly, the player generally goes with an agent that they feel they can trust and when they time comes to sign a new contract the agent gets a percentage of the total. If the player leaves the mid way, the original negociating agent still collects on the contract they helped create. Basically, which ever agent signed the contract collects the money.
In other notes, when I did my 15 minutes refresh on MLBTR.com and saw Mookie Betts' name on the front page, i nearly expunged my bowels.
