I was over on r/redsox and saw that they were putting together Red Sox fantasy leagues. Obviously these are just regular fantasy leagues filled with Red Sox fans, but a fun idea popped into my mind. How awesome would it be to have a fantasy baseball league where the player universe is made up entirely of the Boston Red Sox organization? Lowell, GCL, DSL 1, and DSL 2 wouldn't be included since their seasons start too far into the season. Therefore you have Boston, Pawtucket, Portland, Salem, and Greenville. 125 eligible players. C 1B 2B SS 3B OF OF OF DH SP SP SP SP SP RP RP RP 17 players per team. 6 teams. Boy would I enjoy that. Obviously constructing a fantasy league with player stats automatically updating would be extremely difficult (certainly not something I could do). But if you've watched this 30 for 30, or are much older than me, you'd know that the first fantasy leagues were run manually w/ participating members updating their own teams stats each week. If there are 6 members of this board invested in this idea (and with enough time), we could make this happen for the 2015 season. I know that I am. Rotisserie or Head-to-head plus other tweaks can be agreed on. We start a separate thread in the Off-Topic Forum, complete a 17 round draft one night, and update the thread weekly with statistics. Anyone interested? ADD: To eliminate the problem of players being called up to one of these 5 teams, we could draft a ____ man bench made up of only players in Lowell, GCL, DSL 1, & DSL 2.

Just making sure...no one would be interested? I'd be more than willing to keep track of weekly scoring for each team, all I'd need is 5 other members to do a Sox farm system fantasy draft between now and the 6th. That is, of course, if hijacking our own couple of threads in the Off-Topic Forum is cool with the mods. C'mon all you have to do is show up for the draft (and do add/drops throughout the year if you want).

We tried this years ago, like around 2008 or 2009. It wasn't nearly as fun as it seemed. You can probably try to find the threads over on the old board if you've still got a link.
