Hey, so don't look now, but JBJ has hits in every game he's played so far, and double-digits in all but one.

My main man Keith Couch had a solid day, 2 runs over 5.1. The countdown until he replaces Clay has officially begun.

I was also just plain wrong, getting past the stupid "double-digits" thing (I meant "multiple") because I forgot about the first game today in which he was 0-for-2. Good lord. Mea culpa people.

Anemic PawSox offense today. Shutout on both ends of the doubleheader, 2-0 losses in both games. Both Johnson and COuch pitched well enough for wins.

Haley's throwing on three days' rest. Heard a couple of innings on the radio and it lots of 87's and 88's according to the announcers. Guess you can chalk that up to early season, 3 days rest.

Why is Devers getting so many games off?

Why is Devers getting so many games off? This is his second game off out of seven. It's not like he's getting platooned. For reference, if we assume about 140 games for a team (they schedule more but games get cancelled, so let's use that), playing 5 of every 7 would be 100 games. Last year, 22 players in the Red Sox system played that many. Only 5 played more than 120. He'll get his at-bats, don't worry. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Last year he played in 72 games, so 100 in a nice bump actually—~40% more games played over the previous year. Let's not throw the 18 year old out there for 140 just yet. He can increase his games played by 10-15 games a year and be ready to assume a full workload (140 games played) at the MLB level when he's 22 if he's ready by then. No one on the Red Sox ever goes over 145 games played anymore anyway, which is probably what you want if you've constructed your team properly with adequate depth.

The general point was good, though. There's a thought that the best 2016 Sox team will feature JBJ in CF and Hanley at 1B, depnding on the former's hitting and the latter's fielding in LF. Nothing that's happened this year so far has countered that thought.

Nothing that's happened this year so far has countered that thought. I want to keep Hanley out of the infield. I feel he's more susceptible to injury there. I'd like to see him as our clean-up hitter for the next 7-8 years. With a move to DH when Papi hangs em up. I hope Moncada is ready to go by the time Papi hangs em up and he starts his career in LF. Moves to 3B when Panda can't play it any longer. I'd like to get a LH bat to replace Napoli. We're awfully right-handed with a lot of games in Yankee Stadium and Camden Yards. I have JBJ in the Hamels trade if he produces well in the first half. Along with Margot and Henry O. Around July 15th
