Hi everyone,
Just wanted to write a quick note. We get that a lot of people are frustrated with the major league club right now, and with good reason - they're kind of maddening at the moment.
However, that isn't a reason for the level of discussion here to fall below its typical standards. I know we tend to let a lot go in the gameday threads, but even in there, we expect posters to act with a certain amount of rationality.
We aren't interested in moderating veiwpoints off the board. Think the Red Sox should DFA the entire pitching staff? Fire Farrell and Cherington? Cool. Think everything is fine and everyone just needs to relax? Also cool. But either way, we still expect all posters to maintain a certain level of intelligence, thought, and civility in their posts.
The community in this forum is one of the best places for discussion of its sort around, and we're proud of that and thank you all for being a part of it. However, if the discussion devolves into something resembling the comments on a Boston.com article or something, the moderators have the ownership's blessing to step in and clean things up.
Again, from me and the rest of the ownership, staff, and moderators, thanks for making this forum so great, and for continuing to do so in the future.
Go Sox.
Chris

I would like to reiterate Chris' above comments. In particular, I would like to remind you that there is no place for insulting other posters or using profanity, even in the gameday thread, no matter how bad the Red Sox are playing. Some of you have been warned about this before and are on thin ice.
Thanks, jmei
