A's trade - meh, maybe?
Brewers trade - No way Brewers do that.
Astros trade - Ditto.

The only good thing about that article was that it wasn't a slideshow.

Yeah those first two trades are horrendous. I wouldn't trade friggin Lou Montz for Matt Garza. 3/$37.5mil, why would we take that on? And selling low on Vazquez & Owens while buying high on Stephen Vogt? We bypassed signing McCann, Ruiz, and Salty two offseasons ago for a reason... Dumb trade ideas, I expect better from Buster Olney.
I'm all for dealing Vic though, especially if he continues to hit. Would love to pick up Tony Sipp from Houston. We may not be able to get him, but it's pretty apparent that we need another lefty in the pen.

I think Kazmir would be a great target as a cheaper option to Cueto or Hammels but agree I don't want to buy high on Voigt. Maybe they'd like Marreo and a lesser piece? They could also probably use a CFer since CoCos getting up there. If we go for a Catcher it needs to be Ruiz.

Yeah on the Garza one both teams probably say no (I wasn't thinking of the contract at all in my first post, and you could argue that the Brewers would eat some salary to get a better return). Cecchini has no trade value right now unless the team thinks they know how to fix him.
Those deals are pretty much all ill-conceived.

I'm really only interested in the first 100 or so innings in a season of Kazmir. Last year was his first season breaking 160 since '07, and he wasn't very good in the second half. I'm certainly not trading Owens, Vazquez and more for a half-year rental on the off-chance that he's durable now.

I tend to take that article with a few grains of salt.
Phillies have been demanding Owens in any potential Hamels deal. NOW the Sox would be willing to ship him to Oakland, if the article is to be believed?

The only good thing about that article was that it wasn't a slideshow. I love this line. Also, the author was too lazy to even turn the third trade into an actual trade.

Which is why I should print it out, shred it and sprinkle in my garden. My tomato plants need to be fertilized.

I think we should explore a goldschmidt trade rather than any of these.

I think we should explore a goldschmidt trade rather than any of these. And what would you be willing to trade for a stud first baseman with an extremely team friendly contract? It would likely have to start with Moncada...

I bet they could use Wade Miley and Justin Masterson. I'd even be willing to throw in Brockstar.
Wait, so nobody misinterprets my comments, read it this way
