Adam Lind is having a strong year. I would release Napoli just before obtaining Lind. I would give them Longhi. Then sign Lind to a two year extension.

Is this an attempt at humor?

Lind has an $8m option for next year, so an extension seems unnecessary.
He's an appealing target, but (a) he's the best first baseman on the market, a position of need for many contenders (Cardinals, Pirates, Astros, Rays), which, combined with his contractual status, mean he's not going to come for cheap (Longhi won't be enough) and (b) his extreme platoon splits make him most appealing if you can pair him with a RHH option, which the Red Sox don't really have (they'd presumably have to trade/DFA Napoli to fit him on the roster).
There are worse things in the world than a Craig/Lind platoon, and the Red Sox in particular don't have a ton of alternatives, especially if you're looking forward to 2016. But you'd be buying high on a player with a history of inconsistency, entering his 30s (turns 32 this week), and who needs extensive platooning to succeed. I'd kick the tires, but unless he comes cheaper than expected, I'm probably passing.
