Maybe they should promote Espinoza to Lowell so he can get some work in. I'm not just saying his because he'll be appx. 1,300 miles closer to me.

Going to be a LOT of double headers in south florida the last month of the season.
Just cloudy in CF right now, nor rain yet. Looks like Lakeland's GCL Tigers might at least get started.

Any news on why Moncada had to be lifted yesterday? Someone here posted that his pants were ripped and it looked like a leg/calf thing potentially. Hopefully just precautionary.

Javier Guerra has just an 18% strikeout right in July (compared to 25% on the year, and higher earlier). Oh, and you know, he's got 40 points of ISO on Devers this year, and plays plus SS defense. This might be the best the system has been in a long time, which is crazy considering the recent graduations of Betts, Bogaerts, Swihart, Rodriguez (soon)...

Boy that ball really jumped off his bat. Laser Show!! Part Deux. Why did the right fielder even bother to move?!

Most of the home runs I've seen him hit (and we're approaching a statistically significant sample) are like that. Just yoked.
With neither Salem nor Greenville in the playoff chase, and with the recently signed Dustin Lawley (he of 733 Double-A plate appearances) now the starting 3B in Salem, it wouldn't surprise me if Devers got moved up to Salem sometime in August.

I think they'll want to get a look at Moncada in Salem before the year's out, too.
Although maybe they should keep them back to help out Greenville's W-L record and their culture of winning.

Chavis with a solo shot to dead center, absolutely crushed.

Longhi having himself another good game today with two doubles and single. Jeffry Fernandez probably just had his best start of the season with 7 scoreless innings.

Longhi staking his claim to player of the day....5 for 7 ain't too bad. Probably would've been on a normal day where nobody gets a save after catching 14 innings.
