Gun to my head, I'd guess Caceres goes in game two, although he could also be getting the start tomorrow.

Sean Coyle (rehab) batting third in game 1 of the GCL doubleheader. Also Luis Alejandro Basabe back (last game on July 9).

I mentioned to Rolandi Baldwin that was his good luck charm when we were there, he was hitting the ball well and man.. He's gone cold since we left going 1-11..

Kevin Kelleher makes his debut, getting the start in game two...
So THAT'S why he hadn't pitched yet...

Still, seems a little out of sorts. He had 23BB/71K's in 54-1/3 innings this year with New Orleans.

Mechanical adjustment of some sort that he's getting used to, perhaps.

Mechanical adjustment of some sort that he's getting used to, perhaps. Throwing with his opposite hand?

I guess sometimes big adjustments are made right away because they'll have an easier time repeating the new delivery in the long run. But then it's like learning to pitch all over again.

He's another guy was walking around in a warm up T shirt the entire time was in The Fort Chris, forgot to take a pic of him and he's a really big dude. Maybe was rusty from the long layoff from not pitching in a real game for awhile? It's been over a month for him am thinking since his last competitive game. Am interested in seeing him pitch, as always am in the super hard throwers like this.. Max Watt, Anderson Espinoza and such.

Luis Basabe is becoming more intriguing to me by the day. Hopefully we get some more scouting takes on him before the season is over.

Mechanical adjustment of some sort that he's getting used to, perhaps. Don't the Red Sox have a policy to just "let them play" in their first season and wait until the instructional league or the following spring training to make changes?

GCL Sox get only two hits, but give up only 1 and win 7-inning shutout They lost the no-hitter with one out to go. Gerson Bautista got the first batter swinging, then got nine outs in play (7 GB and 2 FB), then sandwiched four walks around two more swinging strikeouts. His K/W has been unimpressive, but he's a GB machine.

Ryan Oduber, 17 y/o Aruban LHP, 5'11", 140, got his first start for DSL2 after 10 good relief outings and put up a 6 5 3 1 0 5 line, with 13 GB vs. 6 FB. Yet another guy down there worth keeping an eye on.
