Two points: 1) another start by Brian Johnson that SHOULD be in the major leagues 2) the GCL team does not need a Sunday off. They have games to play that need made up. These "kids" are professionals now. These draftees need repetition...not wandering around their dorm or hotel another Sunday.

Would it be asking too much for one of the networks to broadcast the gcl game nationally?

Can the public attend the GCL games? They are totally FREE. Everyone is welcome to go to the game. Some venues give more freedom to roam than others. The Pirate GCL games are very restrictive for example in Bradenton.

Portland, so far, is putting on a good whopp'n on price prospect Lucas Giolito. 6 earned runs in the 1st two innings
Let the rumors begin.......Brian Johnson taken out after just 60 pitches and 4 innings. 4.0 2 1 1 3 3 0 2.53 3 walks and 3 K's

looks like: Wright TUES E-ROD WED Kelly THUR Johnson FRI Miley SAT
EDIT press is still reporting no starter named for TUES "The Red Sox, who are off Monday, have yet to name a starter for Tuesday’s series opener against the New York Yankees in the Bronx. Steven Wright and Eduardo Rodriguez are scheduled to start Wednesday and Thursday, respectively."
seems a rough place for Owens first game.
PAWSOX.COM still shows Owens on Monday, Spruill on TUES.

Tim Roberson with another big day. I know he's more of an organizational depth guy and he's old but do you think there's anything there?
Edit: Looked at his stats doesn't seem like it, didn't realize he's only had 120 AB's. Probably just a hot streak

The Pirate GCL games are very restrictive for example in Bradenton. That would be a good thing to point out which teams allow the most freedom Steve. Never been to Bradenton before, so good thing to know (and avoid for future reference) that they are very restrictive there to access. Lakeland isn't restrictive at all, you can mingle everywhere. Games are played on the minor league fields being one reason and there are NO fences denying access, plus among the 3-5 fans that generally show up? Nobody ever abuses the privilege by harassing anyone. Yankees also play on Minor league fields, but fans are herded and chain linked fenced into a small bleacher section. Maybe like in Bradenton? I consider it restrictive. Fort Myers is really nice, entire run of Jet Blue stadium.

Travis heard some complaining about his power on this board and goes yard. Laughs dismissively.
Oh, Sea Dogs in extras 12-12.

Henry Ramos with a nice 12 G / 51 PA streak at .356 / .431 / .467. He still has a chance to make a positive mark on the year despite the injury.

He only just passed 100 innings for the season today though. If they let him loose without restrictions he's only going to get to what... 160? He got to 143 last year, so he's really not at the point where they should be limiting him.

Moncada's last 10:
.333/.476/.515 with 9 BB, 7 K and 7 SB
He's doing very well after his slow start. Is Benintendi a little bit dinged up?

Moncada's last 10: .333/.476/.515 with 9 BB, 7 K and 7 SB He's doing very well after his slow start. Is Benintendi a little bit dinged up? In fact, he's .344 / .439 / .541 in his 32 games since the league ASB. Based on his bat, he's been ripe for a promotion for a couple of weeks now, so it's possible there may be some specific defensive things they want to see from him first. Even with his terrible first 25 games, he's 13th in all of low-A in wRC+ for guys 20 and younger (minimum 240 PA), out of 228 total players (82 of whom are 20 or younger). His post-ASB numbers would lead pretty hugely. He's also 3rd in all of low-A in SB runs per PA. When you add that to his bat, he's 12th in all of low-A in Runs Created per PA, 3rd among guys 20 and younger. Guerra, BTW is 5th in wRC+ for guys 20 and younger in all of low-A, and 3rd among 37 guys who are 19 and younger. Dubon was 16th for age 20, Devers is 25th (and 4th among 7 guys 18 and younger), and Longhi is 28th (15th among guys 19 and younger).
