It seems that most times we make a trade the initial reaction here is negative. After a few days things settle down and people take a less emotional stance. Forget what we gave up in terms of overall value. Did we get back something of greater (and more immediate) value to us. On that there can be little question.

Can people PLEASE stop making this point? R.A. Dickey has more immediate value to this team than Espinoza, Devers and Moncada so let's make that trade.

Good point...I think Sarasoxer was just saying that in even 2 more years, those 2 guys (Margot/Guerra) would still be blocked on the ML team. The other guys you mentioned may not be, which would make them more valuable. Also, not having to take up spots on the 40-man, which allows us to protect other guys that we may lose in the rule 5.
