The game may not have been over, but the run Allday scored on the play made it 10-5 and the season ends tomorrow. I'm glad he stopped. Wasn't like he was missing the double and got thrown out going for two. This was the HR pitch, BTW:

People who were at the game tonight, how is Dubon looking? I'm a big fan of his since he basically came out of nowhere.

Yeah it looks like Devers also got his second wind also the last few games. How many calls are the Sox FO going to get this offseason? Forget the main roster there all going to be about Greenville team. Devers is 14/31 his last 8 games, but with just 2 2B, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 2 SF (.452 / .457 / .516). You don't see a .452 BA and .069 SEC very often. Margot in his last 5 is 12/20, 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 2 BB, 2 SF (.600 / .583 / 1.050). You don't see a .600 BA and -.017 IsoD too often, either. Meanwhile, Wendell Rijo is 9/21, 2 2B, 2 HR, 2 BB (.429 / .478 / .810) his last 5 games. ... which I swear has been running through my head the last few days anyway ... And the insane Josh Ockimey is .364 / .405 / .485 in his last 8 games / 36 PA, despite fanning 10 times. You don't see a .522 BABIP that often, either.

Skeleton thought that Margot's HR pitch was at his shoulders, but it is clearly chest high at the point this fabulous picture was taken. Can't tell horizontal placement of course, but vertically it was a strike.

My favorite for a break out season, Jamie Callahan, certainly has NOT had the year he or I was hoping for.......but his transition to the bullpen has been somewhat eye-opening. Here is his last 10 game totals: 4-0 1.52 1 29.2 21 5 6 40. He had 2 4inning stints in which he struck out 8 in each. Jamie just turned 21 and now is up to 230 pounds. Maybe he will turn into a decent relief pitcher for us.

People who were at the game tonight, how is Dubon looking? I'm a big fan of his since he basically came out of nowhere. Hatfield could say more (he was watching more closely and does more of this than I do), but ... I thought he looked like a legit SS with good range, but he didn't show up at the plate yesterday. I mean, it's really hard to tell much from a single day's look, but he had some trouble at the plate, looked pretty jumpy. A lot of that could've been from a habit (that Chris pointed out) to bail out with his back foot as he swings, especially against high velocity. He didn't really get around on much of anything, and the back foot bailing out made his swing pretty busy (his head bounced around a bit as he swung). But he's certainly athletic and quick, although he's REALLY small. Not so much short, just really, really thin. Dude was barely three dimensional, practically disappeared when he turned sideways. Wendell Rijo looked like a lot of fun in the dugout, btw. Oh, and Guzman can hurt a baseball with a bat ... good lord, did he ever pound his home run.
