Not sure where to put this, so I created a new thread. Glorius hasn't been talked about at all, likely because he signed as an UDFA. However, he's now ranked at #38 on this site, and in their draft report series, BA named his fastball the best fastball in the 2015 Sox draft class. Perfect Game named him the best prospect in the Florida League (collegiate summer league) a month ago: perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=11826

The Sox will have a glorious day whenever he takes the mound. I imagine he has heard them all and pjts up with it. Good training for ignoring the Boston media when he gets to the Show.

I can just see the back page of the Herald:"Glorius Start for Rookie as Yanks Shut Out".

...and one we're going to get tired of very quickly if this guy makes it - or even if he doesn't.

FWIW, given his size/frame, relative youth, and probable lack of exposure to high-end coaching, does he have more in the tank? And can he develop a third pitch? The FB is plus-, and if the breaking ball can be solid-to-above average, even a fringy third pitch makes him a pretty terrific sleeper prospect. He's also got the build to start, if not yet the repertoire.

His scouting report has hi with 4 pitches. Yes, the secondaries need refinement to be effective as climbs the ladder. Worst case he should profile as a decent power bullpen arm.

Unless he can learn very quickly, it might be worth fast tracking him in the bullpen. It just seems pretty unlikely that he could possibly make it to the majors as a starter before running out of options.

It just seems pretty unlikely that he could possibly make it to the majors as a starter before running out of options. He has the standard 6 years, three before he needs to be protected from the rule 5 draft and then three option years. I would continue to develop him as a starter just to get more reps on his pitches, even though I'd agree that his future looks like relief. And doing that allows you to be pleasantly surprised.

I woud absolutely develop him as a starter. He's so new to pitching, you really have no idea what come out, and, no matter what, he needs some serious innings ... only way to get that is as a starter.
