Quick question, my laptop wasn't loading the split stats for some reason. What was Anthony Ranaudo's Avr/ era with runners on? just watched a few highlights of him on youtube and he seems much more comfortable from the windup

Yup, he was pretty terrible with runners on
Runners on: .343 BA, .964 OPS Bases empty: .231 BA, .714 OPS
So .112 worse BA, .250 OPS with runners on.
In a vacuum, those numbers are fairly meaningless, and a relatively SSP of 37 IP, so for comparison's sake, another guy who seemingly underperformed at Portland, Pimentel
Runners on: .276 BA, .724 OPS Bases empty: .247 BA, .700 OPS
So .29 worse BA, .24 OPS with runners on. They were both pretty much the same pitchers with the bases empty, at least on the surface with these basic stats, but Ranaudo clearly struggled with guys on

Would an injured groin be more effected from the stretch?

That's what I thought. If you watch any film of him he looks like a true ace when he throws from the windup. the second he has a runner on his attention is redirected and his pitching style/ mechanics change. I hope he can get this straitened out because I believe he has the makeup of a #1

Eh, those college numbers are pretty normal splits. Lower OBP with nobody on base, lower batting average with men on.
Reading anything into Ranaudo's 2012 stats other than "he was injured and pitched badly" is a mistake.

This is a warm up before an LSU game in 2010
This is a warm up with the Sea Dogs this year
Granted neither of these are from game action, but his stride is noticeably effected, and in general his delivery looks much more rigid, to me at least.

In both of these videos and in the weei video Ranaudo elevates his lead elbow above his lead shoulder when it should stay ~3 inches below. This is causing him either to elevate his Fastball or make corrections that reduce his velocity and/or command. I'm just surprised this is still occurring in the recent weei video. Any thoughts?
