Turned on the game and the first minute of listening to Dave O'Brien was literally better than any minute of Orsillo's career. I think we'll appreciate Dave O'Brien if this team is in contention and in crazy competitive games. His call on Ortiz' homer in Detroit in 2013 was phenomenal. However, he tends to put me to sleep when the games not on the line. And I think that's where Don shined. For the moments you needed someone to engage you, even if it was just jokes or whatever, I was always entertained.

Nothing says baseball like watching Koji buzzsaw his way through an inning. Gotta be my favorite Sox relief pitcher ever.

Taz FB around 92. Typically 94-95. Koji's FB 85. Typically around 87 or 88. Joba Chamberlain FB around 92. Typically 94-95. Somebody was complaining about Price only throwing 91-92 with his FB? Seems like its the cold. Will be interesting to see how Kimbrel also shows reduced velo.
Cold weather impairs the muscles -- physiologically they can't move quite as fast. Makes sense to see veto reductions across the board. Take-home message: Nobody panic.

C'mon Hirschbeck. That's like a foot outside.

Is David Ortiz wearing an Unknown Pleasures t-shirt under his jersey?

That was clearly a retaliation call and that should be fireable.
Eat that, Trevor Bauer.

On the replay, you could see he was looking to Xander hoping he'd react on his walk back. Almost seems like he's tried to get back at guys for disagreeing, same with Napoli in his 2nd K.

Good thing NESN put up that first HR of 2016 graphic. I'm pretty sure nobody would have figured that out.

Hanley looks like the old Hanley again, something he never looked like last year, even in April.

Hanley ropes one too. Using Bauer for their own ends now.

Nothing says baseball like watching Koji buzzsaw his way through an inning. Gotta be my favorite Sox relief pitcher ever. One of my all-time favorite sound bites was Eck in a postgame talking about Koji: "...punches two guys out just to stay in shape." I'm with you. He's a beast, and watching him dissect hitters with high-80s "heat", precision guidance, and the off-the-edge-of-the-continental-shelf-and-into-darkness splitter is awesome. Just one day, but they look good.
