Benintendi's night has been a smoked single to CF, a ball murdered right at the RFer, and one hit like 380' to LCF for an out.

So far.. Travis 2/3 with a BB and a HR. (<---- The HR video is now in our twitter feed) O'Sullivan 4IP 1R 3H 1BB 4K PawSox up 11-1 5th
Tavaras, Witte, Romanski, Rosario with multi-hits McCavoy went 5.2 3H 2ER 1BB 5K Portland up 8-5 in the 9th of their home opener
Moncada with a triple and a BB but no SB Mars stole 2 more bases. He's now batting .417 (not much power tho) Dubon continues to get on base S, 2BB, SB Lakins went 5, 2ER 5H 1BB 4K Salem up 6-2 after 6
The twins have 2 hits each. Alej is back to playing 2B. It will be interesting to see if they leave him there, he didn't look any better than you would expect at SS. Boyd went 3, 2ER, 4H, 0BB, 3K Drive down 2-1 bottom 7th.

Sam Travis with a second homer of the seaon. Is this the start of him showing game power? And what do they do if he's hitting a HR every 15-20 AB by mid-season (and the BB/K rate and avg are about his usual)? What if Benintendi goes to AA and keeps it up? Could be these guys all force a big deadline roster shake-up.

Sam Travis with a second homer of the seaon. Yeah, the HR was an absolute missile. Also had a hard LD single to left and a deep flyout to center

Salem Red Sox @salemredsox 3h3 hours ago Jake Drehoff comes in, faces four batters and strikes them all out swinging. Not bad for a first career save.

Well it's just crappy video, but Travis looks to have a lightning quick bat, one that generates interesting sound effects. That one was another rocket.

I know it's a terrible idea to say this right now but I can see the Sandoval comparisons w/ Devers in that clip.

Benintendi 1/4 in a game where he could've been easily 4/4.

I know it's a terrible idea to say this right now but I can see the Sandoval comparisons w/ Devers in that clip. I see what you're saying, but Sandoval is basically the extreme of that body type. Fielder is huge, but Pablo is the most rotund position player in the sport. Devers still has a lot of physical maturation to go through. He's going to look way different a few years from now, for better or for worse. If you want to look at him in a positive way, that swing does look a lot like Cano's, albeit less fluid at present.

That would be ideal, wouldn't it? Although at this point, I'd probably keep Hanley at first. But if Travis became a .280/25/85 or so threat, yeah, save the $22M/yr over four years and get probably only slightly less production (if at all by deal's end).

Travis is really going to have to take to convince Dombrowski to not pursue EE or Bautista. Even if we did sign one, and Travis proved he was ready to start in 2017, we could just trade them because everyone is going to be interested in RH power. It would also hurt the Blue Jays as an added bonus.
Unless Travis absolutely mashes to the extent that he gets called up, and then mashes in the MLB, I think one of those 2 is in Boston next year. If we get half or more of Pablo's deal off of the books, it becomes even more likely.

There are so many on the way in the next couple years.
