Has anybody seen Teddy pitch yet this year? It sounds like he looks strong, if he can keep progressing he could be a 200 IP type pitcher. Does anyone know how hard he has been throwing his 4 seamer?

Teddy Stankiewicz has been impressive so far. Very impressive, with better control and a lot better K rate. Curious to hear any new scouting. He's bucking for a promotion, and he'd be pretty age-advanced for AAA. Nice to see.

If Stank gets promoted it won't be until mid/late July or later. He's had 3 starts in AA. So far so good. But the Sox are in no rush to promote him. We need to see consistency over a longer time frame. I could easily see him spending the whole year at Portland, tbh.

I put this in a game thread but it's a well done article on Stank's last outing. www.pressherald.com/2016/04/20/on-baseball-this-red-sox-prospect-is-in-control/Note that he does also throw a curve, just didn't that game. It could be that he plans to hone them one at a time. He wouldn't be the first pitcher to have difficulties throwing a curve and a slider at the same time. To some extent that's probably as much a developed skill as learning either pitch. I also think he'll likely spend the majority of the year in Portland. Wilkerson is the most likely next up.

I think he'd need to sustain nearly this level of success for probably 12-15 starts before they decided he's had enough of AA. But I won't lie...I've got my fingers crossed. AAA at 22 is pretty strong work, and it's even more impressive given his awful K rate last year. Clearly, he's figured something out.
