It would be nice to have Swihart available here

if we had any actual bats on our bench, this would maybe be a spot to pinch hit.

Really don't like the sac bunt with Hanigan at the dish. I feel you're more likely to score a run with Holt swinging away.

Can we pinch-hit with Chris Young so he can get some at bats?

Great plate appearance, but it also sets up a possible double play

Shout out to Ken Giles for making us all feel slightly better about the Kimbrel trade.

other than some mistake pitches early this year, Kimbrel is effectively wild. Giles seems to be missing half of that equation right now.

This team has lacked heart. There's been no intensity or passion in their play this season. There was under Lovullo though, and throughout 2013, for obvious reason(s). I'm obviously a fan of looking at baseball through statistical analysis and whatnot, otherwise I wouldn't be here, but there has to be something to having a "purpose" behind your play - some sort of unity behind everyone to get everybody going. We need some sort of catalyst or a brand or something, and I definitely don't mean to suggest that the 2013 attacks were a positive in any form. Even if there's no actual (or provable) correlation between chemistry and performance, this Sox team just looks out of it sometimes. A lot of the time. They just need some unity... something! Add: Heath Hembree has been amazing and needs a more prominent role. Ask and you shall receive. It's a start.

Shout out to Ken Giles for making us all feel slightly better about the Kimbrel trade. Velasquez would have easily been the best pitcher in this game.

The guy blowing the game for the 'Stros is also an overpay (although a bigger one) for a glorified reliever. Poetic justice?

Anyone else a little surprised to see Hembree out for a 3rd inning trying to finish it off? Kind of expected Ross to come in.

Hembree should be the MVP of this game. I think he's earned the right for Farrell to abuse him.
