Phil's are 3 or so years from legit contending, esp the way the Mets and Nats are constructed. They are building much like the Astros did. I think any starter help will be expensive at the deadline so if the Sox are to give up blue chips then I'd rather it be blue chips with legs. That said, anyone think the Phils would deal one of Velasquez or Nola to fill some other very controllable needs. My suggestion would be:
Espinosa, Swihart and one of the top 5-10 for one of them. (or is that too little, in which case I sub Devers for one of the top 5-10)
Alternately, Hellickson could obviously be had for less but he will still cost a significant prospect (at least) but less control.
Anyone see a method to this madness or should I just start my Friday commute now?
