How much time is there normally between milb double header games. I was thinking of heading to the Portland Sea Dogs game today but I don't think I could make it any earlier than 5:30
Anyone know?

Usually about 30-40 minutes, and they only play seven innings in minor league doubleheaders. So unfortunately I think you'd need some long games to catch any baseball after 5:30.

Thank you. That's what I had thought, but I was hoping my memory was failing me. Oh well....I'll have to catch a game some other time.

I'd go ahead and say that most of the attendance pages on milb.com are useless. Go to a Frederick Keys game and then look at the announced attendance if you want to have a nice chuckle.

Buttrey's been moved to the Portland bullpen, per SeaDog game notes.
Per Kevin Thomas, Henry Ramos is being promoted to AAA.

Jayce Ray from Greenville to Portland. Currently two open spots at Greenville and Salem.

Chavis activated from the DL and looks like Tyler Spoon up from XST.
Two promotions to Salem needed.

I thought Cosart might be the other, but not to be. Callahan was indeed activated, fwiw, so Salem is full again.

True. Sounds like Callahan is indeed one of the moves. Could also see Gunsolus moved up now that Chavis activated.

8 batters, 2 outs, 40 pitches, and Ball is yanked

Both DSL teams are 2-0. Culture of winning baby.
Hartford's only run in the entire double-header was Pat Valaika's walk-off home run in Game 2.

Fitting that we lay Trey Ball's career to rest almost three years to the day he was drafted.

Fitting that we lay Trey Ball's career to rest almost three years to the day he was drafted. And it doesnt just quite stop with ball.. Im afraid we might have to give up on a couple more players as well.

I was one of the first to not like the Trey Ball signing BUT, I absolutely have not given up on the kid and I admire the heck out of him. He's obviously doing his best and is a long term project. He's made some progress this year and we should not be discouraging him.

Much better for Owens tonight, although still 3 BB's. But results are better than the past few outings.
Varvaro continues to look good. He might be forcing his way into the conversation for a callup. He was once a solid bullpen piece.

I wonder if Ramos will be seen in front of the Green Monster at some point. Its hard to call him a "post-hype sleeper" since there wasn't truly hype to begin with. But before the injuries got in the way, he seemed on track to make the big club. He was an athletic outfielder with 'fill out' potential who was producing in Portland at 22. If there's a player in the Sox system who I can see surprisingly becoming an MLB regular somewhere at 27, and people asking where that guy came from, Henry Ramos is the first name I'd volunteer,
