Sounds like the exact numbers from the light tower HR, which was probably the last time he pulled the ball in the air. Great, send those numbers to Cooperstown. First Homerun in over a month and your wetting yourself over distance. How about hitting like your paid then we'll keep track of distance WTF are you talking about? Cool your jets chief, nobody is wetting themselves. I basically just said that was the first time Hanley has pulled the ball in the air. Breath kid, breath.

Just in case no one notices, have any knuckle balls gotten away from Vazquez?
edit: that one was about 10 seconds later....

Just in case no one notices, have any knuckle balls gotten away from Vazquez? Nicely done. EDIT: But your point is good. Imagine if Hanigan never got hurt? He would still be catching Wright right now with PB after PB.

What, you didn't get the memo? Vazquez is a horrible defensive catcher. Gutless Did anyone say that? Yup. Temple was disgusted with him. Gameday threads have become atrocious around here of late. That was what JimEd's was sarcastically referencing (not on this post, but the one that Botox89 reacted to earlier - "Xander is terrible. Down to .353. Thought I'd get a head start on the typical game day thread. And if Wright allows a run this inning, we need to trade all the prospects for a crappy starter." Sounds about right.

Do you always get worked up about things that haven't happened yet? hell of a way to live life I'm not sure if you got that he was being sarcastic. He's making fun of the typical over-reactionary posts that are clearly posted without being read back beforehand. I tend to do the same from time to time although I typically use italics (internet code for sarcasm) so that people know that I'm not serious. (Although I am serious about my intentions of not being serious) He did demonstrate that there can be no sarcasm so obvious that some people will not take it seriously, though. I laughed out loud.

Remember at the beginning of last year when we had a catching prospect who was also a top 25 prospect in baseball? But we chose a career minor leaguer over him because that catcher has mystical powers. And then we learned those powers were a ruse? Can we please go back in time and undo that?

Ya'll realize you can just ignore (either using the ignore function or just through power of will) the particularly negative/dumb/trolling folks, right? If someone posts something dumb, trust that most folks know they've posted something dumb, and just roll your eyes and move on without starting a thing.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm not 100% sure that Temple is serious. Sometimes I feel like he bounces between cynical serious and cynical sarcasm/trolling. My impression of him is that he's been here long enough that he's tired of kicking butt and proving that he's smarter than everyone, so he just kind of makes statements. You know, like after you beat a game 100% on expert mode and then have nothing better to do than to cruise around in freeplay mode.

It's kind of like when my dog barks and my brother yells at it and then I realize that I'm just as annoyed with my brother yelling at the dog as I am annoyed by the dog barking. I can also tell by the likes that people can already perceive the things that our sarcasm was trying to elucidate. My apologies good sir.

Why does this always seem to get closer than it should've ever been with the Orioles?

And that was on a day when CV was having a terrible day defensively. I think his comments (which were admittedly over the top) were more out of frustration with the fact that CV was catching while Swihart was playing LF, because he was supposedly the next Molina. Well so far, this season, I haven't seen anything Molina-like except swagger. And in the process Swihart got hurt playing LF. I'm sorry but I'm in temple's camp on this one. Swihart is the catcher of the future.

Yes, but it's gotten to where 90% of the posts are unnecessarily negative. I get that they are sometimes sarcastic. I get the reactionary "this guy is playing like sh*t right now" I appreciate the sarcastic negative posts, and I get that Temple is purposely over the top, but he is consistent with the sentiment. And many here are consistently negative about EVERYTHING. I don't block anyone, but sometimes I just stay away because I know exactly what they are all saying. I've been reading and sometimes posting here for over 10 years and right now is an all time low for reading these game day threads, which used to be my favorite thing online, while watching/listening to the game. We're in first place, by the way. Edit: Sorry about the profanity, I wish you edited that for the long run-on sentence.

WCP3 is one of the guys who gets it and I find his negative posts the most enjoyable. They days of WillyCoPapi and ASAL and Norbit were the most enjoyable game day threads for me. Temple is an incredible source for prospect data/scouting and I put a ton of weight on what he has to say about a prospect. For the MLB game analysis, I don't really agree with much he has to say. I gloss over his negativity and none of it is funny. I never remember anything that provocative coming from you. Not saying that in a bad way, but you weren't on my radar, in terms of writing things that annoy me, or I see as negative for no good reason.

Ignore / will is not authoritarian enough for most folks on the game thread.
