Don't stop that. They need big inning right now with zero out.

Quintana has not been good pretty much all night, which thank god is the case given the offensive struggles the last two nights

In Hanley's defense, at least that was hit sharply.

Come on Hanley, you're been stranded 2 bases twice!

God did the Sox need that inning. Not even gonna cuss Hanley out about the double play.

At least Ridriguez's velocity has been pretty good. Mid-90s in the 4th is a lot better than when he first came up.
Ed:Errr, *Rodriguez*.

ERod appears to be getting his smoke back. Made a fool of Navarro with that last fastball.

ERod appears to be getting his smoke back. Made a fool of Navarro with that last fastball. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. He's getting his groove back. Not surprising after the extended time off.

This is by far the best Rodriguez has looked. Results may be similar to his return back vs. Baltimore, but his stuff is far sharper and his fastball has much more to it
Edit: Also, does Holt get activated ASAP to play 3B? I'd be surprised if Shaw doesn't require a DL stint, and Marrero shouldn't be playing at the MLB level, let alone starting

If Rodriguez pieces together a few solid starts, can we finally put the "we need another couple starters" to rest?

Maybe Sandy Leon should be leading off. Mookie could bat 5th, he's certainly more qualified than Young.

It's almost like the ghost of Christian Vazquez was playing in this game.

Good thing Sandy Leon is a true talent .600 hitter, which should easily offset baserunning blunders like that.

I wish JF would use Leon as PH instead of LaMarre from last Monday game with baseloaded. Who knows what will happens?

Fairly confident that barring injury E-Rod is at worst a competent 4th/5th starter once he gets some innings under his belt this season. They need one pitcher. The question is do they unload someone like Devers to get a top end guy, or do they look for a mid to back end starter and hope that he + the motley crew in Pawtucket can piece together the final rotation spot

The ball really flies off Red Sox pitching. So many HR's. When's the last Sox pitcher to throw a brush back pitch or drill someone? Hitters just look so comfortable.

The important thing is that Rodriguez got through 6 and we didn't have to use our well-rested relievers.

That thing was torched on a pitch outside the zone. He's got such ridiculous power, but it feels like he's guessing and has just happened to be right twice in the last two weeks.
Hopefully he turns a corner. Even if he's just decent (105+ WRc+) as opposed to being under 90 that's a massive offensive boost that is needed ATM
