Keith Couch is on the bump, so a Benintendi HR is all but guaranteed. The chances of Benintendi's high wRC+ when Couch is pitching being random is .0237%.

the common thread in all these Devers/Moncada puff pieces is that Mauricio Dubon sounds like a hell of a dude

Curious to see what sort of progress the forgotten man Christopher Acosta makes this year in GCL. Still potentially a very interesting prospect. Should be plenty of good MiL pitching to go around this year with Espy, Kopech, Groome (if signed *knock on wood*), and guys like Raudes, Acosta down under

Every time Kopech misses the start I'm going to get nervous that he did something stupid.

Especially when her husband is actually famous for a real reason, former NFL defensive linemen Kroy Biermann. Good for Kopech either way though, she is certainly not tough to look at.

Excellent 5 1 0 0 1 4 stateside debut for Darwinzon Hernandez, who, given his assignment to Lowell rather the GCL at age 19, has to be considered a legit prospect.
Hernandez is the Venezuelan lefty who allowed 33 BB (plus 7 HBP) versus 28 SO in his first 45.2 DSL innings, and then, in his 7th start last year, suddenly got command: 47.2 IP, 53 SO, 16 BB thereafter. That's a 4.60 FIP versus 2.11 (he's yet to allow a pro HR).

My man Dubie seems like a great guy His teammates absolutely love him. When I did a long interview with Rijo for the podcast at the end of last season, he was wearing a Dubon t-shirt. Had his own logo. Think that old school Griffey Nike logo, but if he were emaciated.

Who else is happy that they now put up the DSL box scores A LOT earlier than in year's past? If it's already been said then, well, I said it again. edit: I just had to click like on my own post.

Moved to 1st game after the all-star break ? Sally or Carolina? I would imagine Salem tomorrow night. Wouldn't kill him to get a few starts in Greenville to get his feet wet. I was thinking Salem, also Chris is tweeting that sources have him going there. Moncada and Benintendi 1st pitch swinging against Giolito. Moncada smoked a LD right at 2nd base. Beni with a lazy fly ball to shallow center. All three outfielders could have gotten to it.

Ryan Boldt is playing against Lowell today. Hitting 1000 so far. Didn't take him long to sign this time.

2nd AB Moncada got the first hit off Giolito. He took a 2-0 FB down the RF line for a double. If the RFer didn't cut it off, he would have had a triple. Beni with a FO to center, Couch got smoked.

I'm not familiar with pretty much any shows on American TV now and actually have no clue what a reality TV show is but I hear them mentioned all the time. Pretty girl though, looks like a party girl, the kind you can easily fall in love with for a few weeks. Go Cheers, MASH, All In The Family, Steinfeld, Friends.....

Giolito seems to be struggling more now. Moncada took a first pitch curve for a line RBI single to RCF. . . . You have to be impressed here, these are not your younger twin brother's SeaDogs and it's not just Moncada and Benintendi.
Dogs have gone from down 7-0 to forcing a pitching change 1 2/3 innings later. Their down 7-5 with the bases loaded and two outs.

Ben Taylor had a really nice 1-2-3 inning in his AA debut.
Moncada now 3-4 with 2rbis

I'm not sure what's up but box has Moncada with one double. I think he has two. . . . Box says single and fielding error on the CF. Not crazy about that scoring decision. . . . Buttrey with a few command issues but looks like he might have a decent future as a middle reliever. Still uses the entire pitch mix but throws mid nineties. . . Moncada flew out to LF in his last AB, Benintendi robbed in his last AB by a great catch in RF. All the pitchers they faced were righties.
Dogs lost but looked good.
