Dalbec is pitching the CWS finale right now. No runs through 2.

Quick thought from the photo side: the Luis Alexander Basabe shot is cropped from mine and uncredited. I have no idea where your credited link is supposed to go. It's this shot: sittingstill.smugmug.com/keyword/luis%20alexander%20basabe/i-K4nKfPL/AI am aware that someone has doubtless lifted it from me and you lifted it from them, but if you could fix the credit (Kelly O'Connor/sittingstill.smugmug.com) that would be great. Likewise on the L. Alejandro shot--you shouldn't credit to Flickr, it's from Bryan Green on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/begreen90/15297685618Most of us photographers appreciate credit.

If you ruin him or his arm, then you just start him on his normal development path as a 3B next year. The problem is if he's lights out as a bullpen arm. What do you do then?

As stated in the other thread in which this idea was thrown out there, there are all kinds of reasons not to do this including the 40-man roster, options, etc. It's not like you can put him on the roster and start his clock as a pitcher and then it doesn't count for Dalbec the third baseman.

Tate Matheny has to be in line for a promotion sometime soon, right? Hitting well recently and definitely old for the league.

But he's been hitting over .300 for Greenville and was mentioned here when Joseph Monge was chosen to fill Benny's shoes.

Yeah I'm not getting what the hold-up is there. Sox have four OFs they want to get playing time in Salem (Meyers, Monge, Mars, Hudson), but they have five of them in Greenville (Basabe, Matheny, Washington, Kemp, Miller, although Miller is to a much lesser degree than the first four). Although I'd say that none of the Salem guys are going to block a promotion, I'm also not sure Matheny is priority enough for that to apply, if that makes sense.

Salem has also been using Longhi more as a COFer lately Before Wednesday, they'd done it once all season. Hadn't seen yesterday's box score yet. Glad they're trying this again. If Longhi can play an OF corner well, he's far, far more valuable.
