Not a great day for the organization in general. Rafael Devers begs to differ. He's en fuego. Devers was 4/8 with 3 2B in the doubleheader. Ramos hit his 5th AAA HR and is now OPSing .858 for the PawSox. Owens had 3 WP today, very unusual for him.

Not a great day for Espinoza. 22 batters faced, 9 ground ball outs, no walks, no home runs. I'll take that even with only three Ks, especially since he's about 15 innings past his 2015 total. Just admit that he is not doing good. Those numbers you just gave us are a good way of hiding all the other things that happened in the game. Anyways, You can face 22 batters, get 9 gb outs, walk none, and not allow a home run and give up 15 hits and 10 runs .

Second, that kind of batted ball profile leading to that kind of result would scream 'fluke' by almost any statistical measure.

Observations from the Pawtucket game from a guy with zero scouting capability.
- Owens had some good swing and miss stuff (6Ks). His changeup was working well as we would expect. He bounced an inordinate number of pitches and even had a run score on one that Vazquez couldn't handle. These weren't change-ups in the dirt, but fastballs that bounced on and even in front of the plate. I think he scattered about five or six hits, but every one of those was hit hard. The stadium radar gun wasn't working so no information about velocity.
- Castillo could not have looked any worse. I did not realize he batted seventh. Four strikeouts and he was completely overmatched every at-bat. He has no clue how to hit a breaking ball. None.
- Vazquez made no hard contact at all. His hit traveled about 40 feet between the pitcher and third. I can't talk about his receiving, as I didn't have a seat that gave me any information about whether or not he was brilliant or pedestrian.
- I knew Jose Vinicio was thin, but I have never seen a professional baseball player who is that skinny. He hit the ball hard though and he has a compact swing. If I knew nothing about prospect status, he looked like one of the better players on the field.
- Henry Ramos' home run was gigantic. At least 420 feet, minimum.
