Keith Law's midseason ranks are up for insider and Kopech came in at 45 (following benintendi 3, moncada 5, devers 7, espinoza 14).... thats a heck of a jump for a guy who was on this sites mind, but none of the preseason lists.

It’s pretty amazing that with 2 A+ starts Kopech has turned our big 4 into a big 5, but based on those 2 performances, and even more importantly his improved mechanics and chiseled frame, it would be tough to include Kopech in a deal for anything less than a controllable frontline starter.

I am waiting for someone to come on here and say I emailed all those guys using the radar guns and they all told me it was more like 99 mph. You know that when you're *downgrading* to 99, a guy is throwing serious gas.

I was so intrigued by the randomness of this that I had to find out why you posted it. And then I did. And realized how apropos it was.

If Kopech can actually touch 105 then I'll do everything that would involve him using his right arm/hand for him so he never expends any effort on anything besides pitching/working out. Ehhh, I think you might want to reconsider what 20 year olds are doing with their right hand a majority of the time.

I wonder if there was any contact on that 105 mph heater. Or if it was a strike or not even close.

Kopech in line for start Sunday July 24 @ Fredrick Keys. He's not in Portland by then is he?

Saw "Creed" on an airplane; nice how Rocky quotes the "weakens the legs" myth that was said to him on the 1976 "Rocky"

Yep, as a 20 year old myself, I can confirm what we do most of the time... posting to/scrolling on SoxProspects 😉 But on a serious note, 105... wow...

Also, Michael has "#ThorTheSequel" in his Twitter bio. If that's any indication of his confidence level, calling himself Syndergaard 2, I find that incredibly awesome.

In all seriousness his girl is probably like " So when are you like gonna pitch for the real Red Sox"? He probably feels the pressure from her she probably wants to be known for dating a Major leaguer not a minor league babeball player in the red sox system. Thats why he has been lights out to start the season.

None of the videos that I have seen indicate that Kopech is a max effort guy. He has the easy delivery that does not raise concerns about future shoulder/elbow issues.

I think she would actually take a few mph off the gun if anything. Agreed. Some oxygenated blood would be diverted. From my own experience as a track guy in high school and college I found that 'fraternizing' even the day prior to a meet dropped my performance. A fellow track man who was amorously engaged prior to a race saw his 2 mile time come in 30 seconds slower. When questioned about his performance, he responded.... "Ever try dragging an anchor for 2 miles?"
