I asked him over email and he confirmed he was referring to the stadium gun. Ah, OK, thanks, good to know. The readings for the other pitchers were the typical high 80's low 90's.

I'd love to see Romanski get some AAA time before the season ends, I think he could be our #3 catcher at some point next year.

The radar gun that Speier referenced is the stadium radar gun. I dont care what anyone says, I watched that video where he struck out the side and he definately hit a buck on some of those pitches. The ball was in the mit as soon as he released it.

I asked him over email and he confirmed he was referring to the stadium gun. Ask him if any other pitchers were getting higher radar gun readings.

Who needs a radar then, from now on we'll let you tell us the velocities!

Nobody is saying that he did or didn't hit 100. jmei only pointed out that minor league stadium guns are not always accurate. He didn't say their gun is not accurate. There's a subtle difference here.

Probably, but im certain that people that have been around pro baseball for a long time can, like pitching coaches and managers, scouts and stuff.

Holy smokes.
Welcome back officially to the league you were supposed to develop in Kopech this year. You missed most of the year but it seems like the league hasn't missed you.
What a freaking arm. I forgot how much I loved this kid's potential because of all the bad luck he's put himself these past 12 months.

My hope had been for a brilliant start last night and one more before trades go down to make it increasingly likely that he will be off limits.

Kopech should be off-limits regardless. Let him develop. We need top of the rotation arms, and his arm project to be just that. As a stock, Kopech should be a HOLD.

This caught my eye in the last 108 stitches: "In the Dominican Summer League, 17-year-old Bryan Mata tossed five no-hit innings in which he walked three and struck out five, topping out at 94 mph with a three-pitch mix. In his last four starts, the 6-foot-3 righthander has a 0.95 ERA with 21 strikeouts and seven walks in 19 innings."
