Farrell could take a lesson from Carlos Febles, you roll with your Ace coming out of the break!!!

Owens needs to refind himself and start giving up weak contact and go back to his normal minor league walk rates.
Starting to think that he could be the bust of the 2011 draft...unfortunately.

Santiago Espinal wiht his pro debut, batting third and playing 3B. Really confusing that they have two S. Espinals playing 3B.

Haley is starting for PawSox. That is interesting. I guess we will find the reason soon enough.

Haley is starting for PawSox. That is interesting. I guess we will find the reason soon enough. First game after the break doesn't necessarily start where the rotation left off. There probably isn't a "reason" so much as they want to keep the guys on a schedule. Atkins is actually going in Portland too. Same thing.

I'm sure they all three simulated games or intense side sessions so they could keep on a 5 day schedule

Ryan Hannable @ryanhannable Re: All the Henry Owens speculation. He wasn't scratched today. Justin Haley had always been the scheduled starter coming out of the break.

Ryan Hannable @ryanhannable Re: All the Henry Owens speculation. He wasn't scratched today. Justin Haley had always been the scheduled starter coming out of the break. That's very good. First, trading for Hill before you see Buchholz get shelled again makes no sense (nor does it make sense for Beane to want to move him now rather than play suitors off of one another for another two weeks). And second, he's still your best hope for AAA pitching depth next year. Elias will be out of options, so dealing Owens would mean that Brian Johnson is your entire 2017 AAA starting depth, which is not acceptable. The thing to do with Hank is to give him two more years in AAA, if he needs them, to find the decent start-to-start consistency that is all he needs to be a mid-rotation starter. (If he can get real consistent, I still think he's a #2.) If by that time he's blocked by five better guys, then he's a much more valuable trade chip then he is now.

Benintendi isn't flawless. He could use some work on stealing bases and reading pick-off moves.
