Does Torre watch any of the games and see how inconsistent the balls and strikes calls have been by the umpires and at times they keep fueling the argument rather than walk away. One of the things undermining the integrity of the umpires are some of the actions of the umpires themselves. He should look at fining umpires when their actions undermine the integrity of the profession - perhaps call it the Mea Kulpa rule.

Take away the Yankee's tenth man and they'll be truly pathetic.

Good, get the arguing out. If you allow the managers to argue pitches you're gonna have a bad time. There are like 300 pitches a game, ffs. If you step onto the field, you should be immediately ejected if you aren't either removing the pitcher or requesting a replay (and hopefully they can streamline the replay challenge nonsense sometime soon and just have staff in a central office checking everything).

"Stop checking whether the umps are right or wrong using technology, damn it. We don't use that kind of stuff around these parts."

MLB should discipline yesterday's homeplate umpire. He was brutal for both teams, particularly on the corners. He was consistent and bad.

In no other major professional sport do the officials make themselves part of the game in the same way as happens in baseball. Can you even name from memory one NHL referee (who, by the way, are fit, unlike the slobs so prevalent in the MLB)?

The Ron Kulpa game was brutal. It almost assuredly altered the outcome of the game and could alter the division race. He should've been disciplined for that.

Casual NFL fans actually know who Ed Hochuli is. NBA refs are also a pretty big part of the game. I'm sure most NBA fans have heard of Joey Crawford.

Hahaha, just when you think this league couldn't become an even bigger joke...

If that's the case, I'd show up to games with a check in hand. That way if I have to run out on the field and give an umpire the business, I'll give the game check to the crew chief. Kind of like when Mark Cuban got fined $15,000 for using profanity and was being interviewed about it and was notified that his fine went to charity. He then pondered if he should do it again to donate to the charity and then just said "F*** it"
Keep in mind that if there is a larger penalty for going out on the field and giving it to the umpires, that managers might have to do/say a little more to get their money's worth.
