Severino, Eovaldi, and Pineda. For those of you who think the Red Sox starting pitching has been frustratingly disappointing. Too bad we couldn't line them up against Kelly, Buchholz, and a special one-time appearance by Felix Doubront. It could be an entire mid-week series of letdown.

Tommy Layne signed by the Yankees. Was this reported elsewhere? I wonder if we could see him in this series.

Pomeranz is the X factor.
Can't wait for Benintendi's first HR tonight.

Also, despite the fact he has bad feet, I see no reason to cut them off.

Random but fun reminder: Brian Daubach had the 7th best game ever by WPA standards against Anaheim on 8/21/2000 with +1.287 WPA while going just 3-5. He hit a 2 run HR to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th, and then a 2 RBI single when Boston was down 1 in the bottom of the 11th to walk it off. Extremely clutch game.

Well, you could always go Kelly, Buchholz, Owens (or Price).

That Ortiz bobble head reminds me of the nasty little "Zuni fetish doll" from "Trilogy of Terror." I have no idea how the manufacturer thought that was a good design.

Or maybe this guy ditched the trench coat for his Ortiz getup.

Does anybody know where our hitters went and who these imposters are? Would be nice to see them again, especially at home against a team they should beat.

I'm pretty sure our gcl pitchers could hold this lineup to less than three runs. It's like their timing is completely off and they are not recognizing the spin on pitches.

Isn't 98 right on the outside like that supposed to be unhittable!?

Excellent, professional at-bat by Pedroia.
Also, a big thank you to DDo for keeping Benintendi around. Looks pretty natural out there.
