Jhonathan Diaz pitched yesterday for the GCL Sox. Five no-hit innings!
Since that means today's starter is TBA I suppose I'll fly a totally unsubstantiated Jason Groome rumor.

So Dalbec's astronomical k-rate is sitting at a whopping 22.2% while his slugging remains at .542. Maybe he shouldn't be a pitcher.

Not saying he hasn't done well, but if he strikes out more than that in Greenville it wouldn't make me too confident in him. I'm sure the org will tinker with his mechanics to shorten him up a bit. If he really does have 75 raw power I think you have a ton to gain by making the swing compact and letting power come naturally without much effort/length.

I was thinking about this the other day and had meant to post something about it, so thank you for the reminder. Almost all of us were first exposed to Dalbec (or at least first really paying attention to him) in the college World Series, when he happened to look totally lost at the plate. The whole "Dalbec should definitely be a pitcher" thing was certainly an overreaction, but given how he looked an understandable one.

Devers with his 10th HR for Salem. Make it 11. Promotion coming? Or maybe keep him for the CL playoffs?
