You absolutely cannot have Wright in the rotation. This is humiliating. What an absolutely brilliant post. Let's fire the guy who decided to put him in the rotation this year.

Good job by Xander breaking the O'Brien jinx

Knuckleballers don't need no rahab starts. They can roll out of bed and get people out.

I'd be fine giving Travis less playing time

Two brutal squanders. JBJ too anxious and chasing.

Man oh man - this is the team at it's most frustrating and difficult to watch. I now cringe whenever they have men in scoring position and less than two outs. Bases loaded is a guaranteed fail.

Squanderiffic. 1st and 3rd with no outs and they can't score - yet again.
There was a lot of talk about being on the road, but the truth of the matter is they weren't doing so hot at home lately.
It's like this team can't get out of its way. It should be ripping off a big long streak but it can't because they either squander on offense, have the bullpen blow it and/or make a questionable managerial decision.

We are getting NOTHING from JBJ, Shaw and Holt.
At some point, bringing up Moncada to man 3B has to be considered.

Seems like we're always swinging at the 1st pitch with RISP, regardless of it's location.

Did I hear that right? O'Brien just said they left 76 men on base during the road trip. When Papi swung at the first pitch and hit that weak pop up, Eck let out a loug "ugh"

Mookie is something else. Average almost past .320! Yeah, he's something else, all right. You cannot get yourself picked off and give up an out in that situation.

Crickets in here - seems like there is an awful lot to discuss and assess - like the missing bottom of the order, horrendous approaches with men on base at least. Or is everyone just drinking heavily after that mess?

When there's 8 LOB by the man who has carried most of the offense all season, all you can do is shrug.

Do folks recall my off-season Wright argument? I noted that his one start last year on extended rest -- 7 days rest vs. Anaheim on 7/20 -- was easily his worst, and when I ran his numbers, there were versions that excluded that one. Those versions, of course, were better predictors for this year.
I can't honestly say that, given that sample size of one, that tonight's first inning struggle was (Edit: ) not unexpected (I certainly didn't mention it beforehand). But the team should have been aware of a potential rust issue. I would have added a simulated inning to whatever his warm-up routine is ordinarily. I wonder if in fact they tried that.
If that doesn't work in the future under similar circumstances, he's going to need a rehab start.
