I have questions regarding 2 players. I saw that Austin Rei has an OPS over 1000 at Salem (who cares), but that he has 7 2B caught my eye
And what's the story with Daniel Gonzalez, who looks like he piggybacks with the more renowned Darwinson Hernandez? Gonzalez is only a year older (21); didn't see him rated in top 60, couldn't find any writeup of him; love his K/BB #s both last year and so far this year; has pitched better than Hernandez so far

I know it's early and it probably doesn't mean anything, but I noticed that Salem has 11 guys hitting over .300. Cool.

Have to look Gonzalez scouting report, too. His fastball sits 84-86, tops out at 87. With little to no room to grow as he's already 6'5", 230. That profile isn't play up, no matter how good his secondaries are, and they aren't great. Scouting report says gets outs by mixing pitches and throwing strikes. That will work in low-A, but not much beyond that, at least at 85-86 on the fastball.

With that kind of speed, he might be able to develop a good sinker. Throw strikes and keep it low works at all levels.

We should not have a catchall thread for this. Start threads on players if you'd like - we could use more minors-based discussion, so thank you for getting some started, thursty!
I've made this a Gonzalez thread since that's where most of the posts went. Thursty, feel free to start a Rei one for your other point.
On-topic, reports on Gonzalez are easy to find from his player pages in addition to his scouting report. As mentioned, the stuff is pedestrian despite his frame and it being his 5th year on the system. There isn't much there.
