On paper the Sox have every advantage on the pitching side of things. Things never play out that way though, especially the way all the third baseman are making errors for the Sox. Can someone make all the plays for once in a entire series at third base?

Sale's 63K/8BB is so ridiculous. Santana will fall back to earth. His xFIP/SIERA is 4.12/4.15 this year.

I just wanna see guys make some solid contact. This team doesn't strike out much but they could probably stand to strikeout more if they're taking more aggressive swings. Hunt some fastballs and have some fun!

can we kidnap Sano and have him play 3B? You should just wait until the Twins release him after the season.

No wait Dumbrowski will trade a few top prospects for Frazier or Moustakas.

Sure would be nice to have Travis Shaw right about now, wouldn't it? But nah, we don't need depth. Relievers win ballgames.

That's twice in the past week a runner was safe at first because Moreland didn't stretch for the ball. Is he injured?

Sure would be nice to have Travis Shaw right about now, wouldn't it? But nah, we don't need depth. Relievers win ballgames. Yup. The Yankees won again today with 3 9th inning runs, after being one strike away from a 2-0 defeat. Chapman closed it out as Kimbrel has done for us. Had the Cubs had that close out relief, the game would have been in their win column. The lack of top flight relief for the Cubs and conversely it's presence for the Yankees, spelled the difference. The Yankees used Mariano's success/importance as the blueprint to success. Last year they underperformed woefully on offense but still had a winning record. Now they have the best offense in the A.L. without Bird or Sanchez, have the majors best record which followed the ML best spring record. That team is scary good and has a highly rated farm system. All this talk about Baltimore being the new rival is myopic. The Yankees are back. If the Sox can ever get Thornburg and/or Smith back to augment Kimbrel this year, we could be competitive provided we can also reliably score more runs..

I see your point here but I don't know this is a fair criticism of the Cubs. Wade Davis hasn't given up a run yet this year. His past 3 seasons FIP: 1.19, 2.29, 2.29 Since 2014 he is number 5 in WAR for relievers with a 1.10 ERA (Chapman is 2, Kimbrel is 7).
