This team needs another Bat
JBJ for Kemp
2017 32yrs Atlanta Braves $21,750,000 10.049 $3.5M paid by Los Angeles Dodgers, $2.5M paid by San Diego Padres
2018 33yrs Atlanta Braves $21,750,000 $3.5M paid by Los Angeles Dodgers, $2.5M paid by San Diego Padres
2019 34yrs Atlanta Braves $21,750,000 $3.5M paid by Los Angeles Dodgers, $2.5M paid by San Diego Padres
Get Atlanta to pay 2.75M in '17, '18 & '19 bringing what the Sox would have to pay him down to 13M each year

I wonder how much the Red Sox would have to pay to trick a 4th team into taking him.

Kemp has averaged 0.45 WAR over the last five seasons and is getting old. He's a well-below average left fielder -- arguably a DH-only type. Not sure why we'd trade a cost controlled gold glover who is a lock to be a net positive and isn't set to hit free agency until 2021, so you can pay $16M/year for Kemp for a few years. And seriously, don't overlook the defensive falloff -- two positions would suffer an extreme decline.
If Jackie didn't get off to a cold start, would you be floating this?

This doesn't make sense. Kemp's defense is gonna give back whatever his bat provides if not more

They have the same bWAR this season despite a .300 point difference in OPS.
