While we're already off topic then... Never saw Soundgarden, but saw Audioslave in Lowell on Halloween back in '05. www.setlist.fm/setlist/audioslave/2005/tsongas-arena-lowell-ma-53d59f41.html I always remember it was Halloween because Brad Wilk played the entire show wearing a gorilla mask (which Cornell pointed out near the end of the main set incredulously - he clearly thought he'd get too hot and take it off at some point and hadn't really looked at him), and even better, Cornell came out to play Black Hole Sun solo acoustic to start the encore in a Jason Vorhees hockey mask. Made a song that's always felt creepy, in no small part due to the video, even creepier in a good way. One of the great voices ever in rock music. Literally used his voice as an instrument - live, at least, he got that abrupt set of pitch changes at the end of Show Me How to Live by literally chopping his throat. Such a sad loss. EDIT: Other highlight - if you look at the setlist, when they started into Rusty Cage (Audioslave didn't play any Soundgarden or RATM songs when touring on the first album), the pit just... I can't recall seeing an arena go apes--t like that and I've been to a lot of shows.

I saw Chris Cornell sing with Pearl Jam (essentially Temple of the Dog) at Pearl Jam 20. I was pretty amazed that his voice was still as good as it was at his age. They performed the entire Temple of the Dog album split between two days I believe. I feel lucky to have seen it.
Say hello to heaven Chris.

I never saw Soundgarden either - they were unfortunately broken up for most of my concert-going life. Had a chance to see them at the Palladium in maybe 2011 after they reunited - regretted missing it at the time, and obviously really regretting it now. While all of those Seattle bands sort of got lumped together as grunge they were all very different. Soundgarden had the most prog rock/prog metal influence, with all of those weird tunings and time signatures. And they way Cornell could transition from those absolutely gorgeous melodies to that scream was unbelievable. People talk about his four-octave range, and the technical range was great, sure - but it was the stylistic range that set him apart. Soundgarden was in my top five all-time favorites and I'm really devastated by this one.

I was lucky enough to see Soundgarden AND Nine Inch Nails at xfinity center in 2014. What a great show by both bands. Best one I've seen. IMO Chris Cornell has best voice only after Freddy Mercury. Just so intense and pure balls to the wall. He loved showing off, as others mentioned, with his screams that truly reached your soul.

I believe today marks the beginning of Sandoval's rehab stint as well; it will be interesting to see how he and Holt split positions - I would think that Sandoval gets the vast majority of time at 3B (and of course it's not really clear how often Holt can play).
Haven't heard anything about the planned duration of Sandoval's stay. But however long it is, when it's over and if Devers keeps it up, I don't know why they wouldn't promote Devers to AAA when Sandoval returns to the majors.

Their voices are so awesome together, with Eddie singing so low and Chris singing so high. There's really nothing else like that in music.

How close is Sam Travis to getting a call up? Once Pablo comes back, a bench of Holt, Young, C and Sam works for me. He can platoon with Moreland at minimum. And, give Hanley a day here or there. Not to mention pinch-hit for whomever our 3b is when he doesn't start.

The problem with this scenario is that it hinges on Holt's health, which I'm not sure is something that can be relied on moving forward.

Coreno beat me to the punch on the health issue - I don't think you can assume Holt or Sandoval stays healthy going forward. I don't love the idea of using 3 roster spots on 1B/DH-only guys if both of those guys are question marks.
Also, Travis has hit well for all of a month after his slow start. I'd like to see him consolidate some gains for another month, ideally. That said, as I suggested on Twitter, if Moreland continues to struggle a bit, maybe you roll with him in a platoon.

Would love to hear an updated report on Roldani Baldwin.
This little blurb was in 108 Stitches:
Roldani Baldwin, went 3-for-4 while drilling his sixth homer of the year. The 21-year-old is hitting .265/.305/.571. If he can continue to develop as a catching option (he splits his time between catching and first base), his bat life gives him a chance to be a big league contributor.

Price pulled after 2 innings. 5 hits, 3 runs, 4 ks. Probably not the start that says he is ready to pitch in the bigs.

Not fun to see in his first game of the year after missing a month and a half due to injury:
With Roldani Baldwin batting, C. J. Chatham caught stealing 2nd base. Defensive Substitution: Carlos Tovar replaces shortstop C. J. Chatham.
