Farrell pulling all the right threads this inning.

Does anyone else get the suspicion that the Rangers are throwing this game? I mean I'd have the pitchforks out if the roles were reversed.

Not a great Sale performance tonight, but the offense woke up

I felt bad for Dyson there. And Rangers fans. What the hell was that handling of pitchers in this game for the Rangers?

Thought Farrell pushed every right button this game except for sending out Sale in the 8th after a really long bottom of the 7th inning.
Yeah Bannister was really bad tonight. I'm not sure if Dyson was even warmed up with more then 5 pitches out of the bullpen before he came in. If be calling for his head in Texas too.

I'm glad for Marrero. There's never been a guy hitting less than .200 and it feels like he's hitting .280. He clearly isn't going to pan out. No one really knows what happened. He's in MLB and contributing. He can almost be seen as clutch.

Just checked the weather, there's no way the Sox are playing a game tonight. The next game in this series will be postponed.
Heavy rain starting around 4 or 5 and raining a inch per hour until tomorrow.

This could put a damper on the Brian Johnson return to Boston on Saturday. I'm sure the Sox will adjust their rotation to have Porcello go on Sunday and Sale on Monday and not give them a extra day's rest. Tuesday will be Price's turn in the rotation, if they actually want to give him the start and not another rehab start.
Edit- I'm iffy on giving Price the start on Tuesday. He struggled a bit yesterday but the team he will be facing in his first game back is the White Sox, who might be a good team to start against in your first game of the season.

I like what Farrell is doing - nice moves lately with pinch-hitting the catcher. Last year he refused to pinch hit that position overall because he said he didn't want to leave only one catcher available.
And his decision of 1/2/3 of Betts, Pedroia and Xander seems to be working.

There is not much that I like more than seeing major league debuts. Because you know they feel exactly like what you dreamed about as a kid. This! Something every baseball fan has dreamed of at some point, but something very few get to actually experience. Love the two hits by Travis; don't like the senseless diving into home plate.

David Price to start against the White Sox on Monday as said by Farrell. This schedules an extra day's rest for Sale, so I don't get why the Sox would do that but whatever.

Speier mentioned that he was throwing 93-95, but that his command was lacking like someone in spring training. I'm encouraged by the velocity in regards to his injury. People will probably be disappointed in Price to start out, but he's still arguably the best choice for 5th starter while he's basically rehabbing in the majors. It's smart to pitch him next to Sale to give the bullpen a break the day after while he ramps up his pitch count.

Just stinks that it was Sale that got pushed back a day.

Are they really trying to play this game? This game could turn out to be a dumpster fire in terms of quality.

There's no way in hell they can play this. They must be trying because it would be close to impossible to make up.
