Shawaryn's last start for Greenville maybe? I certainly hope so! Other than that one start, he has totally dominated...which he should. His age and college experience should allow them to push him.

I was hoping to watch Shawaryn yesterday but it didn't work out. He's been great I'm surprised they hadn't moved him up yet

Mata looks pretty good. No word on Groome return

Does anyone have an idea when Chavis might be in line for a promotion to Portland? He has been tearing the cover off the ball at High-A. I assume it will coincide with Devers' eventual move to Pawtucket?

I assume it will coincide with Devers' eventual move to Pawtucket? Gotta believe it will come once he is able to play third base almost everyday. I believe he still hasn't played back to back days in the field. And that's a problem since his defense is a question mark. Plus letting him crush a level for awhile might not be a bad thing. Chavis has really only had 2 hot streaks since he's joined the system

There's no incentive to promote Chavis fast. He's maybe the most eligible trade chip the Sox have right now given that it makes no sense to trade Devers, and Groome/Mata aren't really on the trading block to our knowledge (it would seem that we'd be selling way too early on both so I'm making an assumption there).
I don't want to trade Chavis, but I wouldn't want to see him promoted, struggle, and have his stock evaporate again before the deadline.
This is not even accounting for the fact that he's not playing the field much yet.

6 innings, 3 hits, 2BB's and 9K's for Shawaryn, so far. Looks like he's out to start the 7th.

Shawaryn out after 6+, he left with the bases loaded and nobody out. He was lights out for the first six innings but didn't have his control in the 7th after a long wait. He was hitting 93 in the 7th, which I thought was an encouraging sign.

All the talk about a Shawaryn promotion but not a mention of Logan Boyd. He's 21-8 in two seasons thus far at Greenville, and 7-1 this year. It seems to me he should be in the discussion for a greater challenge.

Tyler Hill by the way, reached base in all 8 of his plate appearances yesterday (as noted in the Cup of Coffee). Some of those plate appearances came against the #3 pick in last year's draft, Ian Anderson. A little write-up of that here.
