Seeing the Sea Dogs in Hartford later today. A couple days ago it looked like I would see Brendan Rodgers, Lakins, and Longhi, but a few events in the last 48 hours or so have changed that. Hoping none of Devers, Chavis, Mars sit after the double dip yesterday.

Trading Longhi leaves a hole at 1B and the middle of the Portland lineup. Probably going to see Mike Olt become the everyday 1B. Earlier in the season I would have suggested promoting Ockimey to follow Chavis up, but in June he hit .212/.362/.271/.632. Hasn't shown season long consistency yet.

On another note, what's up with Raudes this year? I understand he jumped a level and is still very young for that league, but he really fell off a cliff this year. He is facing better quality players, but what concerns me the most is his BB%. Rose from 4.9 to 8.3 this year. For a guy that relies on control due to lack of overpowering stuff, seeing his command go is not good.

I wish they didn't trade Longhi for more space but a lowerA guy instead

Second trade for more cap space involving Diaz and Espinal from Lowell.
Apparently they only have standing room only tickets for tonights Sea Dogs game. We would be driving from Middletown. Anyone try this before? I am back visiting from Florida and really hoping to catch a game.

I like the second trade. Opens up more playing time for this year's draftees. Especially with Netzer coming in and needing playing time in an already crowded infield.

After the trades, Osinski goes from the GCL to Lowell

They had ushers at the entrances to the sections, but not all of them so we just walked in and sat down in an open row. Also 32 oz. beers for $10 isn't bad at all

Toss a glove on his wrong hand and see what happens... he needs a position anyway, right?

LF and 2B are more likely, in my opinion. Urrutia may have to get some time at first base under the current roster construction, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Jordan Betts go back up for take two (albeit he'd have be exclusively play 1B until Devers gets promoted).

Is there any way we can salvage something out of a Trey Ball?

The prices on everything as very reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised. I did see many open seats. I ended up bumping in to my cousin and her boyfriend and got a seat behind home plate for the final three innings. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Is there any way we can salvage something out of a Trey Ball? Hit the first batter he faced in the head, then struck out rogers, followed by back to back HR's. Settled down some what, but still not what you expect when you draft a guy #7 overall.

Is there any way we can salvage something out of a Trey Ball? Play him in the OF? Sort of a reverse Williams Jerez strategy.

I think it's far more likely they try Ball at RP first. A transition to the OF is going to bring him all the way back to square one and is the last-ditch plan. He hasn't hit in four years - you can't expect him to make that move and immediately get back to even the form he had in 2013.
