I admittedly know nothing about Andres Jimenez other than that he is 18, currently pitching in the DSL, and struggled in the DSL last year.
This year, it looks as though he made 3 appearances in the DSL and then pitched his first start today resulting in 5 no-hit innings. His season line to date: 13IP, 3H, 0ER, 1BB, 12K

Sometimes it's amazing the transformation/growth some of these young kids experience. Not saying this kid has, but some kids come out of nowhere because of a growth spurt/developmental spurt.
In any event, nice find. Someone worth keeping an eye on.

Devers goes deep again. 3-R bomb. Can't wait for this kid to bat cleanup for the Sox for 5-10 years.

I was just told by two people who are live at the Portland game that Devers home run was an absolute bomb which traveled over 450 feet.

In any event, nice find. Someone worth keeping an eye on. Seems like Devers has had this transformation when comparing his results from this year to earlier. Just want to see that walk rate skyrocket and we're all good.

Just left the game sitting behind home plate. No scouts with guns, only the stadium for reference. Devers at bats against Almonte, who was throwing 97, were epic. After 5 foul balls in the 1st, Almonte K'd him with low heat. The second time up he scorched a ball up the middle that Almonte made a great stab on saving an rbi single. In the 5th, after Cole S and CDLG lined singles off 95 and 97, Almonte tried to slip an 89 cut fastball by Devers. It is hard to describe how hard he hit it. A rising line drive high off the back wall in right.

He had 3 more plate appearances, hitting a hard 2 hopper down the first base line that the 1st baseman made a nice play on. in the 8th he roped a line drive over the 2nd baseman for another rbi. In the 9th down one run, the ump rung up CDLG on a 3-2 letter high pitch that would have loaded the bases for a dramatic at bat. He was quickly given the pass to 1st and Barfield grounded out to end it.

Devers had 3 chances in the field starting an around the horn double play in the 1st, handling a routine chance in the 5th showing a strong arm, and bare handing a slow roller, firing off balance in the 6th easily getting the runner. He looked very comfortable there.

Lakins sat 89 to 92 with his fastball, hitting 93 twice and 94 once. The 3 singles he gave up were all on fastballs and were hit hard. After a couple walks in the 3rd and a discussion on the mound, he came out. Grover followed throwing heat hitting 95 to 97 on the gun and once, if it is to be believed, 100. Cosart was 91 to 94 on the gun.

I was about 50 feet from it, when it hit the netting on a line. It was an absolute bomb no doubter and would have cleared the street beyond the right field bleachers outside of the stadium.

I have to say...lakins game logs and stats just always seem unimpressive to me. Don't understand the hype.

I have to say...lakins game logs and stats just always seem unimpressive to me. Don't understand the hype. I watched him in the bullpen too warming up. Nothing impressive. Bounced most off speed pitches in the dirt. Didn't seem to have much command or control. He gave a few hard hit balls early before leaving with an injury today.

Devers should move into the top 5 In the next top 100 prospects list. As far as I am concerned, right now he is untradeable his value is so high. By this time next year, I see him batting cleanup in a sox uniform

I was in Hartford watching the Portland game as well, the Devers homer was a bomb and he looked awesome. Was sitting behind a Red Sox official who was texting with Dave Dombrowski during the game and was definitely busy after the Devers' blast.
In regards to MPH I was also at the game on Saturday when Jerez was hitting 100 on the the stadium radar so I asked the scout with the gun what he was getting and he said 97, so be aware it's possible they may have been off this afternoon. Jerez at 97 sounded pretty good though

Jesus, Mary and Joseph. If Devers ain't yoked up on the clear, he should be the Red Sox Third basemen now. Look at Alamonte's stats against lefties.

Devers was sweet and Okimey had a nice game too. I am rooting for that kid too. I keep thinking Mo or Ortiz. I know keep wishing. I love this young Red Sox team but the final pieces is the Middle of the lineup the power pieces. I love a challenge and I don't want them to throw money at another Hanley.
One other thing Hanley has one year left but if he hits milestones he vests for a fifth year. I just don't know about the fifth year.
