Letting the runner get to 2nd wasn't good either. Nothing they could do there... Had to try and get the guy at home, and with it being a foul ball the running was ready to tag the whole time. He had NO chance of throwing that runner out at the plate.

Scott Lauber, ESPN - interesting observation "Small-sample proof that as Hanley Ramirez goes, Red Sox offense follows: Ramirez went 12-for-30 with 4 doubles and 2 homers from June 29-July 4, and Sox averaged 8.8 runs per game (and went 6-0); Ramirez is 3-for-15 with 1 homer in last four games, and Sox have averaged 2.75 runs per game. "When he has impacted the baseball, we're a much stronger offensive team," John Farrell said." Where does he get his verbs? "Impacted the baseball" ? Seems to me this team needs a different veteran leader as Hanley is clearly playing injured.

The consistent starting pitching will be key in the 2nd half as this offense is too unpredictable to rely on. I'm glad we are in 1st despite our #3 hitter has 6 homers and a DH providing zip, nada.

ERod returning, Price, Porcello, Sale, Pomeranz all pitching well to great - agreed. But we will need some runs, and too many great starts have been wasted. Hanley to me is the biggest problem - a hole in the middle of the line up where there should be production.

Can we not have the Sox best player fly the air plane, he's sort of important LOL. Although knowing Mookie, he'll master the art of flying. Just like he does with bowling, baseball, and who else knows what else he is perfect with.

I got to admit, losing 4 out of 5 games and still be ahead of the division by 3 and a half games is pretty amazing.
