Interesting tidbit from BA today. Congrats to Devers?:
Michael Chavis, dh, Red Sox. With news that Rafael Devers will move to Triple-A Pawtucket, Chavis will become the regular third baseman at Portland. The two have shared time there. Chavis celebrated the news Sunday with a home run, his fourth at the level and 21st overall in a 3-2 win over Reading (Phillies).

Given how casually it's mentioned there, wouldn't surprise me if there were a misunderstanding of something he'd read. Also wouldn't surprise me if it were true either.

C.J Chatham (rehab) added to the GCL Red Sox roster. I suggest not trying to steal second in your first game back again.

There was speculation about it after his last game by Lauber because of the All-Star break.

Worth noting - when we signed Peralta to a minor league deal, Dombrowski said that there's an agreement in place to release him after a few weeks if it doesn't look like he'll be promoted to the big leagues. He wasn't specific about when the decision has to be made, but said "two or three weeks" which is roughly mid-July.
I'd think that ending the Peralta extended tryout would precede a Devers promotion.

That's all true, but the writer didn't say that. It's sensible to project Devers to be promoted now and piecing together the reasons for the timing and all that, but he just sorta casually threw in a "now that Rafael Devers is going to Pawtucket" as an aside in a paragraph about Chavis. So that is either a pretty bad burying of the lede or an honest mistake.

Yeah, turns out he definitely didn't read all the way through something Marly Rivera at ESPN reported, that Devers is getting promoted once the Peralta-Sandoval pairing isn't there anymore (which I'm pretty sure we were all assuming). If you only read her tweet, it said "Red Sox Prospect Rafael Devers, who I'm told will be promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket..." and you then had to go to www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0675820636181896256-4 to read the caveat. Sandoval's rehab is up on the 17th, so one figures they'll make a call following the four-game set in Syracuse, perhaps. But like I said, it also wouldn't surprise me if they use the break to do something with Peralta too.

Greenville is starting to get healthy, Groome's back. Dalbec and Chatham are rehabbing.
Rusconi is apparently hurt again though. He can't catch a break

GCL lineup is one of the most talented ones I've seen in awhile. Suarez, Esplin, Dalbec, Chatham, Castellanos, Brannen, Colon, Berreo, and Marrero. The draftees are all top 11 round picks, and Suarez and Castellanos are a couple of our better international signings. Low minors have some intriguing players.

Lozada came in as a defensive replacement for Dalbec in the 6th. Dalbec grounded out to end the 5th...

Groome got hammered tonight. Didn't last long. I'm kinda bummed. His velocity has not been impressive at all for a future "ace". Hope his arm develops more as he matures.

If an 18-year-old can't look good in A ball during his second start that definitely is concerning. We should have drafted Austin Meadows.

Shawaryn with another solid start: 6.2IP 5H 1ER 1BB 6K So far, he looks like a steal from last years draft. If he continues this for the next month can we see him in AA by the end of the season? Or will innings limits keep him in Salem?

3/4 game for Baldwin with another HR and 2B. Pushes his average up over .300
