I know he's the future, projects as a #1/2 and I DON'T want to trade him, but given what they got for Espinosa what do people realistcally think they get could get for him straight up? Goldschmidt (I think that's too much but their GM might be intrigued)? Conforto? Chris Archer? Votto and his whole salary? Someone inbetween that?
ADDED: And, yes, I'm presenting this exercise because I don't trust Dombrowski, and if there truely is a 3 yera window in management/ownership's mind with this group, I wouldn't put it past him. Devers, I think is safe, and I think they'll buy Hosmer in the off-season to take care of First.

Don't want to trade him either and as much as I'd love Votto I'd hate to give him up. That's a tough one.

I'd rather wait and go after Martinez in free agency then give up our only potential #1 pitching prospect for a big bat. Votto is a borderline legend offensively but that contract isn't pretty given that it's through his age 39 season at least. He should age well but you never know. Groome isn't nearly enough for Goldschmidt.

They'd be selling low on Groome right now given that he's only thrown like 35 professional innings since he was drafted last year. That doesn't fit Dombrowski's MO at all - pretty much every guy he's traded had a strong "sell high" possibility.
I don't think Groome's good enough to get a blue-chipper, so I can't see him being mvoed, personally.

For the sake of argument - if the Red Sox aren't impressed internally and think he'll continue to disappoint, it's totally believable they'd try to get out sooner rather than later even if it feels like selling low. In the extreme case it would be a situation similar to the Rangers giving up on Dillon Tate for a couple months of Carlos Beltran. I don't have any reason to think that the Sox aren't impressed or would do something like this.

He lost a lot of time because of the lat sprain so this has been essentially his "April" (only 20 2/3) innings pitched so far. Everything still looks good and velo remains. He's only had one real clunker, too (if you negate the first start, where he was clearly injured). I'm guessing anyone who liked him as a 1/2 still does.

I don't think they should or will trade Groome, but if they could get any of those guys you mentioned that would be an easy yes from the Sox. None of those teams would or should do that though.

Shouldnt be trading any of their top prospects. Dombrowski has emptied the system enough. Low cost type to fill the gap at 3rd til devers is ready and a decent reliever if the price is right

Groomed or giolitto probably have the best curveball in the minors. No need to even think about trading him at this point.

Homerism at it's worst. Grome for Goldy? In what world? Gromne is one prospect. No team is going to trade an MLB blue chipper one for one for him.
