The rare DSL to Lowell move. That's definitely a rare promotion, but not all things are equal here since Martinez went to college in the US.

For what it's worth, CJ Chatham retweeted a picture of him at Fenway yesterday. My guess is he is getting further treatment for his injury.

From a source, I wouldn't expect to see Chatham play again this year.

Last I'd heard Chatham was rehabbing, did he reinjure?

Last I'd heard Chatham was rehabbing, did he reinjure? That last we saw of Chatham, he had hit a HR in the GCL on his rehab stint. He was pulled after that and was removed from the GCL roster a few days later.

Pretty good day for the GCL Sox in an 8-7 win. Notable performances:
Cole Brannen: 3-4, 1RBI (although still looking for his first XBH as a pro) Juan Carlos Abreu: 2-3, 1BB, 2RBI, 1 OF assist Tyler Dearden: 2-4, 2B, 2RBI Andre Colon: 0-1, but reached base 4x with 3BB, 1HBP

Michael Osinksi has been a surprise bright spot in a Lowell lineup that seems to be challenging the Red Sox for lack of potency

Mata is just a machine. Every single start seems like a inevitable 6 innings 4-6 hits, 1 walk, 1 run, and 5-7 strikeouts.

All due respect to the guy, but why is Villanueva still here. 8.10 ERA in 9 starts, 43.1 innings. I'm assuming he's a placeholder, but he's not eating innings and consistently gets hammered.

I wonder the same about German Bautista, the reliever. He serves up more meatballs than all the olive gardens combined!

The guy who throws 100 and had a 2.55 ERA across two levels last season and 49 Ks in 43 1/3 innings this year?

What's the plan for Mata this year? I assume he's gonna be on an innings limit? He's already at 48.1 after pitching 61 last year. Any idea on what they'll keep him at this year?

I'd imagine they would keep him at 80-90 innings if he pitched 61 innings last year. Slight bump and not a ton of workload for a 18 year old.
