Then again, if you lose one to the Yankees it affects the division directly. Not always with a team from another division. Or they could phantom DL him and bring up Johnson. Best tactic is simply to start him Thursday night. Especially since no one will be at the ballyard. And if he loses to the Indians, a better team, and the Yankees beat the lowly Tigers that night, it's the same difference. EDIT: So I guess the obvious answer is to pitch him on Monday night while the Yankees have an off day.Since it's so obvious that Fister is going to either lose to the Yankees or the Indians, why is he pitching over Johnson, Velazquez or Beeks?

Yeah, get the 2nd best relief pitcher in there to mop up in the lowest leverage.

Great point by Eck. How do you get thrown out on a single to CF when you're on 3B?

Vazquez with his 7th error. He is a very overrated defensive catcher imo.

The game isn't going so well but that play by JBJ was worth watching. He's such a monster defensive player.

Vazquez with his 7th error. He is a very overrated defensive catcher imo. Sure, if you're looking at errors and fielding percentage.

The game isn't going so well but that play by JBJ was worth watching. He's such a monster defensive player. He made up for the ridiculous throw in the previous play, which allowed the runner to go 3rd instead of staying at 1st.

Vazquez with his 7th error. He is a very overrated defensive catcher imo. He is young and growing into this - immensely talented - seems to lose focus now and then. I love him on the team.

Hanley should be hitting 8th. Not 4th. Don't care about his power.

Why Hanley? Think, Hanley....arrrrrrrrggh
What a waste to have Devers behind Hanley.

Hanley should be hitting 8th. Not 4th. Don't care about his power. So Hanley's batting .180-ish with RISP and part of that is swinging at the first pitch most of the time trying to be a hero.
